Horn Location
Does anyone know where the horn is located on a 2017 RT S ?
-
on the 2014 it was on the left side behind the side cover
-
Thanks John but it is not there on the 2017
-
Do a Google search of 'Horn location of 2017 Can Am Spyder' to find all sorts of references and videos

Right in front of your left foot behind that cover on the 16 RT
-
Thanks CapeSpyder it is there on my 2015 also but not there on the 2017. Don't understand why they would move it on the 2017.
-
Thanks Docster , that was he first thing I tried but to no avail. Came up with everything except the location on the 2017's.
-
I have to ask, when you honk it where does the sound come from ?????
-
It sounds as it is coming from the right side. Pulled of the right panel by the right foot and could not locate the horn. If no one knows the location I guess will have to start pulling off some panels. Just thought someone would know it's location.

I have not had a 17 RT in the shop yet but could they have moved it to the right side near the front a arms like on the F3?

Sounds logical, since using the same pre-built wiring loom will save Can Am $$ in the manufacturing process.

On my wife's 2012 RT Limited it's buried under the left side fog lamp. On my 2015 it's, as mentioned, behind the lower side cover just ahead of my left foot. I changed my horn in a heartbeat; not anywhere near as quickly on my wife's.
Why did they move it? My guess is so owners wouldn't have to disassemble the entire front of the machine to reach the horn! Then again, maybe it's just a Canadian thing. Or maybe there isn't a horn and you have a very vivid imagination. Or, technology being what it is, it could be a "cloud horn."

have you found the horn, i am wondering where they put it

I tried this. Couldn't find any links to anything relevant (except the link back to this thread!).
Is this something Lamont could answer? Also, the thread name is kind of ambiguous; is there any way to make it more specific and grab attention of forum members that might know the answer?

Horn
On my '17 RT-L, when I took off the left side panel to install one of Lamont's foot pegs, the horn was staring me in the face. I cataloged it in my brain as I'm likely to replace it for a louder one in the near future.

So same place as on earlier RT years
-
On my 2015 RTL if you remove the left side lower panel the horn is right there, however on my brothers 2017 RTS there is nothing there just empty space. He asked the dealer and they didn't know where it is located. So the mystery continues, " Where is the Horn "

I was at the dealership today and looked through the honeycomb on the left side and there it was, same place as on my '14.

I just looked at the diagram on discounthondaparts & it looks like it might be located on the right side somewhere around the parking brake motor. Hope that helps.

Not yet, will be pulling panels off this coming Saturday to replace the horn. Will post location of the horn when we are done.
-
Just a quick follow up, on a 2017 RTS the horn is located almost dead center on the a frame. Pull off the skid plate and one small panel and there is the horn. I have no idea why they changed location once again. Once we found the horn it is an easy swap. Hope this helps someone out.
