    Default Saddlebag dilemna

I am stuck and need advice. I can get the OEM removable hard vinyl saddlebags for $1200.00 out the door. from my local dealership. They gave me a fair discount. They look good or Spyderdrops sells an ez-bracket and nice leather saddle bags for $640.00. I ordered a few things from Spyderdrops and their stuff is great and quick free shipping and very fair priced. Any recommendations?

I know I'm in the minority but I like the looks of the OEM saddlebags. I haven't experienced the quality issues that some have. I did opt to upgrade the locks to the combination type more so out of convenience than anything else. $1,200 is a good price out the door (I found one site that has them for $1,196.99 and I don't think that includes shipping).

I went with the Sedici saddlebags and brackets from Cycle gear for about $100. As I only use the saddlebags when I take overnight trips, was not as concerned with the looks but they look fine. They work very well, hold more than the BRP ones and fit perfectly. Between those bags and my waterproof motorcycle duffel across the top of them, I actually have more luggage space for stuff than my wife on her RT when we travel.

I really don't think any leather saddlebags look great with any model Spyder. MTS. I went with the Kriega system. 100% waterproof and very versatile.

I agree -- I like them and other than the lock, I haven't experienced any other issues. They were right for me because I can take them on and off by myself in minutes. I also changed out the locks to more sturdy barrel keys because I was bending/twisting the cheapo keys. I found the original locks sticky.

On the other hand, my husband went with different saddlebags because he couldn't see spending that amount and he doesn't want to remove them.

You'll have to decide what's most important for you.

Any chance of a pic or two of them mounted - I am particularly interested in the rear view

Any chance of a pic or two of them fitted, especially the view from behind, and even from above?

    Thanks :-)

I have the OEM bags and agree with others that I do like the looks and function. I added lights to the bags on the back and sides. Yes pictures.

I'm looking at the police bags for the Road Warriors bike: I think it would be fitting with the style.

Here's a possible, cheaper solution. Get paint changed at local auto repair shop. Find some mounts.

What brackets did you buy? I have my Nelson Rig strap soft bags from 2009 GS, after see your pic I know wonder if they will sag into the rear wheel. Those brackets might be just what the Dr. ordered.

    Default Givi Case Brackets

These are the two different racks that hold the GIVI bags. The N151 is if you install with no top case. The N141 is for two side cases and top case. There is a detailed outline on here on how to install. MUST BE PATIENT.

The ones that Cycle Gear sells with the Sedici bags. They fit perfectly on the F3.
