Nice review, but it's clear nobody explained to the author the "500 or so miles" theory of transitioning from two to three wheels. OF COURSE the Spyder feels like its trying to kill you when you go ahead and try to ride it like a motorcycle, duh!

But yeah, that comments section goes to show two truths:

    1) The more popular a website, the more the intelligence and wisdom of their comments section declines; and

    2) The Spyder is still and likely always will be a misunderstood at best and ignorantly opposed at worst vehicle.

Like I wrote earlier this week, we're just never going to be cool to the kool kids. Oh well, I still have fun.

The disdain that people have for Spyders is just beyond me. It seems the only thing one could compare it to is the heat that comes from the Mac Vs. Windows or iPhone Vs. Android debate.

I used a different browser to read it -- guess Firefox doesn't like the WSJ

That is not entirely true. Adults are very poor judges of what is cool. On the other hand, any 8 -12 year old that I ride by will stop and point and tell their friends or parents to look. (If they see my Harley coming, the older ones ignore it and the younger ones just cover their ears)

Last week while I was doing my usual Wawa lunch break run, I noticed a Mom and her 10 year old son stop walking and look at the F3 in the parking lot. When I asked if he wanted to sit on it so Mom could take a picture, his face lit up. Mom told me that Michael had seen me ride past them on a cross street and said "Mom, look at that cool motorcycle". Her son even asked her to move to the left and take a second picture because the sun was in his eyes the first time.

So... here's the thing. For every grim faced, pre-conclusion drawing, old school idiot... there are 100 kids like Michael that can't wait until they are 16 and can get a license to ryde a Spyder.

Let the old heads keep thinking they are cool. They are not, they are common.

We are the kool kids, with the latest toys and we are having the most fun.

Guess I missed something in the article because I didn't get anything out of it that I haven't heard many times from others that really don't have a clue.

You didn't miss anything Mike. Same old, same old:

"It's different!" (I don't like different and here is why).
"It's safer!" (I don't like safer and here is why).
"It's better!" (I don't like anything better then what I am used to and here is why).

Every article I have read says the same thing with different words.
