The Need for Speed just me or ?
Came off a Yamaha Raider 1900cc last fall, when riding that bike I always found the need for speed or whatever I thought I could get away with except in town then I took it easy, took the stock exhaust off found a pipe I liked great sound when on it, mellow at cruise, but always found the need for speed. Then last fall with the need for reverse I road tested an F3 took it up to about 50 did a few curves thought yep this will do, didn't get much riding in but did put on a windshield and noticed it was a smother ride than my 2 wheeler, now this season I've put 3k on it and found I don't have that need for speed the speed limit or 5 or so over and I'm content also found that the stock exhaust is just fine with me don't have the urge for that big twin sound. Well I did make one mistake I put a RT sway bar on it and now whenever I hit the twisties that throttle just keeps twisting more and more and there goes that damn need for speed again, but she handles it well.

I have the same problem. I've had three speeding tickets in my life, and they've all been on motorcycles. Haven't gotten one on my Spyder yet, but it's only a matter of time

We seem to travel in similar circles. I used to ride a Suzuki M109R (along with plenty of other bikes, including a zx14). After an unfortunate incident, I decided to go with 3 wheels and got a spyder. Now, after about 19 months, I have the need for speed again. So, I picked up another M109R again. I did decided against a sport touring bike like the Concours 14 and Yamaha 1300 for the simple fact that I thought that would be too tempting in the curves and I might do something stupid.

Ya still have my Raider sitting in the garage no hurry to sell it but didn't register it so I wouldn't be tempted

I've noticed the same exact phenomenon. Maybe I'm enjoying the scenery more and in no rush to pass it by. Of course that doesn't mean I won't roll on the throttle for boring highway travel...

Mine sees triple-digits regularly, but just for the take-off, then I settle back to the speed limit or less. It's the acceleration that makes me smyle!
There're only about 3-4 spots out in the sticks where I do this, an ya can see for several myles. And I'm all done in a half-myle or so.
But just about anywhere, I'll pass a pokey cage and let 'er rip to about 80 or so, just to let 'em know I was there!

I also get Cocaine up to triple digits quite often on the main highways. I thought that is why they made it a 1330 triple, a cylinder for each digit of speed.

You're leaving about 1,000 rpm on the table... spin it a little bit more!
Do you sometimes wish you could still do that?
