Yesterday I received (and immediately installed) my Baker Built Upper Air Wings, along with the Inner Panels. (Picture below) Installation was a breeze, although it would have been easier if the parts were designated left or right. In spite of that, a bit of trial and error got me through the install in a matter of 20 minutes.
My main reason for ordering this product was to keep the chilly morning air off of my legs. Yes, Arizona winter mornings can get a bit nippy, and I don't like wearing chaps. Without the warmth of our brilliant Arizona sun, the pre-dawn temperatures can be in the low 30s during the winter months!
I went on a ride this morning, leaving my house at 0530. The temperature was 45, which equates to about 17 degrees when traveling at 60 MPH and above (Source: http://www.cyclefish.com/RoadCaptain/blog/768/). The air wings did a good job of keeping the cold wind off of my legs and upper body. It's going to take some getting used to the look of them hanging off the side of my Spyder, but I think the added comfort is well worth it.
Fortunately, by mid-day it was up to 78 degrees. That's Arizona for ya!
Thanks for a great product. Also, thanks to Mike at Baker Built for taking care of a previous customer service problem that I had.
My wife had them on her RT, she said it was one of the best addons she put on her bike. Web boards, Heel/toe shifter and F4 windshield. She was a happy girl.

Yeah, I also have the F4 tall and wide vented. That also helps with protect me from the cold and rain
The air wings do a great job of keeping the cold and rain off you in the winter and they help direct air at you in the summer. Looks wise they aren't the greatest thing but, like my sheepskin seat, their function greatly outweighs their looks (or lack thereof).

Yeah, I'll probably take mine off in the summer when I don't need them, and just put them back on for winter riding.

If we were all the same, one of us wouldn't be necessary.
I have them on my RTL (had them on my '13 RTL, too) and like the way they look. I also like the functionality of them.

Pam, which color wings did you use? Are those the dark or the smoke? I've been thinking about getting some but can't decide on the color. I like your choice. Could you please post a picture with more of a side view of the Spyder since we have similar paint schemes. Thanks!

They're the new generation with black hardware and dark tint. Here's another photo.
We would like to thank Pam and all the rest who has responded to her post. Your words about our air wings was great to hear first thing this morning. I would like to note that the wings work great in the summer as well as the winter, they bring air in on you and/or keep the rain and engine heat off.
Pam, Thanks again,
Mike
Pam, give them a chance in the summer. Once you turn them to put air on you, the cooling effect is great! Even the Wifi loves them, she is always telling me open them or close them depending on outside temp!
Our only problem was the two-sided tape, didn't stay stuck in the summer. What I was able to do is remove the lower panel from the bike and remove the "Can-Am" piece, drill two holes in each side and bolt them on using a chrome allen headed bolt and a self locking nut. Now they will never come off unless I take them off!

I've actuially gotten used to the look of them, and hardly even notice them now.
Even better, today I was hanging out with a bunch of my Harley riding friends and quite a few of them commented on the "New addition" to my Spyder, saying how nice they look.
For those of us who have to put their Spyders up for the "Winter", will they allow you to put a full cover on?????? I have an UltraGuard full cover.
No problem at all.

Pam, I like the new wings! You also mentioned that you have the tall vented windshield, I was wondering how you like it in the summer and winter and also if you know whether or not it helps keep the passenger out of the wind? I'm looking for some ideas on taking som won the wind away from my wife as passenger.

Brent, I love my tall and wide vented windshield, and so does my co-pilot. Not only does it keep the wind and rain out of MY face, it also makes her more comfortable. And the Goldwing style vent is a huge plus. I definately recommend it.

Reason: Fixed typo
While at the Fontana Rally I stopped by Baker products to look at the different colored air wing
to see which one would look best on my 2013 pearl white RTL. I picked the new gen. light smoke
with chrome hardware and gold filled happy spyder "top and webb on bottom.
Mike & Mike jumped right on the job And a few minutes later we left for Pigeon Forge via way of Cherokee. When we left it was in the 70ts so i set the wings for cooling by the time we reached
the higher elevations the temperature had dropped about 20 degrees , My wife said she needed to
stop and put her coat on as she was getting cold, I reached down and reversed the wings almost
immediately she asked what did i do to make it so much warmer. " She never did put her coat on"

What, if anything, are you guys doing to accommodate the heat recall air scoops? I sent an email a couple of months ago showing what I did with mine but never got a response.

We have came up with a new Inner panel. We are working it into production now. They will be available soon for purchase. We have included some literature on it in-case anyone wants to modify their existing panels to fit the air scoops.http:// http://
