As I see it....
With that small a foot print why not just keep the faster more agile two wheel version. Looks cool and star-wars like but don't think the canyon riders or the spyder ryders will find this a plus....

I wonder how heavy the steering is. There's a lot of mass connected to the handlebars. With that front wheel configuration what happens if one front tire hits a rock while you're leaning way over on a curve?

Looks good to me. And it will be one hell of a lot cheaper and extremely reliable. Plus you can lean.

Nice!
I like it.....I want it! I think it looks badazz-wicked. Depending on initial rider reviews, pricing, etc....you might see my 2017 RTS in the For Sale Section sometime next year. No joke!

My last bike was a Yamaha Royal star Tour deluxe. I still miss that beast! This one looks SEXY!
It can be compared to the F3 when they just came out, very stripped down. Wait till they start making it a touring bike. They are not done yet.

Exactly! It will be more stable than a two wheeler with better braking but yet handle like a two wheeler. It will as quick as most sport tourers in the twisties and a WHOLE lot quicker than a Spyder - any Spyder. And just remember this: It is a Yamaha, proven to be the most reliable make out there whereas the Spyder is the at the very bottom of the list.

Wrong. It is for the most part an FJ-09 from the gas tank back. It has the same exact 115 hp inline triple as several other Yamaha's to include both the FJ-09 and the FZ-09. I currently ride an FJ-09 and I will be one of the first to buy a Niken if it comes to the U.S. I live 30 minutes from the Dragon and ride it 2 or 3 times a month and for those of you who are familiar with that stretch of road you know it will put any machine and rider to the test. The Niken will be ideal for it. As for Spyder riders finding it a plus - that depends. If you ride a Spyder because you cannot hold up a 2 wheel machine for whatever reason you will not like the Niken since it sits upright via a kickstand. You still have to hold the bike up. Think of this as a 2 wheel sport/sport touring bike with added stability and braking power. David

Well, I can hold up a 2-wheeler just fine....and I do like my Spyder a lot, but THAT THING got my testosterone level going! It looks like a blast to ride.
