Its a 2014 RTS with 1200 miles.when clicking on the pictures the enlargment is blurred. Maybe some one else can recognize that area from the smaller picture. Could you add some info like year, model, mileage..?? :gaah:
:yikes:.....It's said that a picture is worth a thousand words, However I have not memorized what every part on every Spyder looks like yet, also my Crystal Ball is on the fritz..............So give us some words to go with this PIC or just figure it yourself ..................just sayin.....Mike :thumbup:Has anyone seen a leak like this?

The pictures are from the bottom front right side of the motor.I agree. Looks like the case seam not sealed properly. Try to give us a location as you sit on the bike. I am guessing just behind the front floorboard on the right side as you sit on the bike. If so, that is probably the transmission case cover leaking. Definately a warranty repair by the dealer. If that is the location/part, you might want to call a few dealers and see if they have the gasket in stock. You may luck out and it might just be RTV. Doubt they will stock the gasket, but it might speed up the turn-around time. Let us know what you find. Odds are, there may be a few more out there leaking the ryder has not caught yet. I just had mine on the lift last week and it was good.

I started smelling burning oil around 1100 miles.
The dealer can not find a leak :banghead:
Hello all...It could be the set screw problem that was first noted on the early 14 RT models. Have your dealer pull up the early bulletins. It's a simple fix, they remove the screw and put Loctite on it and reinstall it.
See post one it has the link to the service http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?62942-2014-s-with-oil-leaks&highlight=screw+leak
Not telling them how to do their job, sometimes this works. Clean the suspect area. Ensure it is dry. Run the machine and then dust with talcum powder. The leak will darken the powder and be obvious wet.

All the best with it.

It is easier to use a powder-based spray deodorant than talcum powder in hard to get to places. I would first clean the area with spray cleaner, dry then do the powder thing. If it is a seam or leaking screw it will show up fast.
They did use the dye. The service manager calles me Thursday saying they can't find a oil leak but think I have a antifreeze leak. What about dye in the oil? A UV light will readily show the source of the leak. Works on automobiles.
Yes the leak is very small. I kinda wish I would of just kept it. Already a good week of weather missed and here in Minnesota we have a short season as it is.Consider also, the leak may be very small and it could be better to hold off until an oil change. Yes under warranty, but it may be less down time and if you wait, you may get the oil change under warranty. Just a thought.

I asked what color dye did they use...he stated green...
I just about died laughing at the guy.

And just to add the dealer is a platinum dealer.
Great now I'm really getting nervous:yikes:.....I'm pretty sure the anti-freeze in your RT is ORANGE..........Mike
