• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

So, I ask the wife this evening at dinner if there is anything she would like for me to do tomorrow. Her reply was I can do whatever I want. Really? Well, you know what that means! Good opportunity to go run the tail of the dragon. It's about 3 hours of mountain roads to get there, and there's a good loop down to the Nantahala and back over to Highlands before coming off the mountain into Walhalla and back home. The caveat? I have to be home in time to make dinner. Small price to pay if you ask me. Highs in the mid to low 40s but it is supposed to be sunny. Comfortable enough with my liner in my riding jacket and some fleece long johns.

you got your ride in just in time. could be some snow tonight up there in mountains, and forecast for Wednesday too. can't beat a good ride when its supposed to be colder in those places and dinner, but all well you had to slave on that one!

Can't wait to take the Spyder on that ride. We have done the "TAIL" 5 times, 4 on 2-wheelers and 1 in our Jeep with the top down. Very beautiful area as with the entire length of the Shenandoah and Blue Ridge. Enjoy yourself! Mad Mac:doorag:

I rather enjoy a bit of intamacy from time to time, and for that to occur I need to make sure she's happy. Nevermind the fact that I have two young children and there were two different birthday parties that they needed to be shuttled to today.

All that aside it was a good ride even though I didn't get to ride the dragon. I got up there and the road was closed due to snow plows and salt trucks doing their job. Absolutely beautiful but cold. Insulated gloves with chemical toe warmers weren't quite up to task at 25°F. Guess the weather forecasters were a bit off last night.

I was laughing when I wrote that.
I also wrote that after showing it to both my buddies and their wives.
We chuckled cause as you just stated....families constantly have things going on.
If I want to go riding I would sometimes call my buddies wives to see what was up so as to not infringe.
Talking to wives before a ride is better then getting a call cancelling a ride far from home.

On another note I did the Blue Ridge and the Dragons Tail a few years ago and plan going back this summer.nojoke

Let me know when you plan on coming, there's plenty more roads up there that are just as fun to ride. I may even be able to get free from work for a day or two to show you around if you wish.

I have subscribed to the notion that it's better to ask for forgiveness than for permission before, but have found that a happy wife is a happy life after all.
