XM Radio Favorites/Pre-sets

Can someone explain the steps to create station pre-sets or favorites with the XM radio? When I get to the screen with the channel I've selected that shows "Record" with a down arrow, nothing I do seems to save the channel. Or if I've saved it, I can't call it back up as a pre-set. Just some basics would help - thanks.

Go to XM screen and hit and hold the set button next to the mode button. Use the left and right arrow button to select the channel. Use the up arrow to select the preset station. Then use the down arrow and hold to set it. Do this for all presets up to 15.
