• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. WOW! What a Trip

We just got home today from Spyders in the Smokies, 2,500 miles, 7 states, in seven days! We started out last Sunday morning @ 730am in North Branch, MN and continued on thru Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, and because of the dragon, North Carolina! We had the best weather yet on a trip...only got sprinkles on the way down and only a 1/2 hour of rain in Kentucky on the way home. Our only mechanical problem was the cruise went out on the way down, needless to say Butch's right hand/arm got a good workout! It was a great time of meeting up with old friends and meeting some new ones...Spyder folks are some of the best around. Ryding thru the mountains was definitly a "wow" experience, especially on a Spyder out in the open without a cage around you to be able to see everything! Lamont you live in a beautiful part of this country, and thank you for allowing us to invade your home for the BBQ. It was amazing to see all those spyders on your front lawn, quite a site! Hope everyone else had a safe trip home too!

Sounds like a gr8 trip

Glad all went well & sounds like I missed a gr8 time. Maybe I'll have my byke back from the shop by the time next years event comes up :roflblack:

What is that on your windshield? A sun visor?

Not exactly...it's wind deflector that is attached to the windshield. Butch is 6'4" and the BRP newer touring windshield is still too short. This add on really helps with the buffeting he was getting. Pretty much can ride with his face shield up on hot days now. Picked it up from a vendor down in Gatlinburg.

Glad to hear you made it home safely. SpyderFest in MO this spring should be closer to you, and then I will probably be the one ryding over 2,000 miles. All my ryding this week came to 998.7 miles according to my trip B meter.

Butch is thinking of going to Cuba in the spring, I'll have to miss that one. To rack of that many miles how many times did you drive up and down the main street of Gatlinberg?!!

Check out your photos from the Dragon, there is one that shows the wind deflector but it makes it look like the photographer bleeped out Butch's face!

SC to TN, 2 runs on The Dragon, then to Alcoa, then Lamont's BBQ, lite ryding on Friday, Mountain Motorsports Saturday morning, and back home again. Main drag of Gatlinburg was run 6 times I think, with one of those being to bring a battery jumper to another Spyder Lover. :D
