• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Witless intercom suggestions

We purchased the J&M helmets with their 465 series headset installed. This is our first trip and we are very unhappy with the performance. Voices are fine when not on the spyder but we get distortion and echoes to the point we cannot understand each other when on the spyder. Called J&M twice and did everything they suggested without results.

what wireless systems have you guys found to work well?

thanks

As I see it..!!

the most talked about and used are the Sena's and the Scala's. We had the Scala Team Pro Rider which worked great but our son has it now. So we moved up to the Scala G9's. This one has our phones, gps, mp3, FM radio and intercome all paired in. Also can be paired up with 9 other riders. I have never used any others so can't say anything about them...

We are using the Sena SMH-10R sets in our Arai helments and could not be more pleased with how they work or the range. They also integrate well with the bikes audio system using the Sena module.

I have used both Scala (01's) and Sena (SM5) brands with great success. I currently prefer the Sena. The Sena gives a longer range, no distortion, and about 2 1/2 blocks of communication distance. Sena will also remain in the on position without the annoying push to speak, or having to say something to open the channel.

I have returned Chatterbox and Nolan N-com packages due to unsatisfactory performance.

Sena SH10's . Very happy with them. works great bike to bike and intercom along with phone etc. I can get an incoming phone call and the caller cannot tell I am on my spyder at 65 mph!

Witless Intercom Suggestions:
  1. "Testing . . 1. . 2. . 3 . ."
  2. "Is this thing on?"
  3. "By the way, is there anyone on board who knows how to fly a plane?"
  4. "We have clearance, Clarence."
  5. "What's our vector, Victor?"
  6. "Roger, Roger."

Butt seriously, I have the Sena SMH10.

This is our second season with the Sena Smh-10 headsets and we love them. When we go on a group ride we can't believe how many riders don't use something similar.

We have the Sena SMH-10's with the Bell helmet that is built for them. The speaker placement is almost ideal and the Sena sticks out very little from the side of the helmet.

Not Recommended!

We bought the UClear HBC100 plus for 2 and DO NOT RECOMMEND them....they work great if you don't go over 50mph, but after that, not good...
We tried contacting the product Manufacturer, via email a couple of times, but got only crickets...just my 2 cents....

Scala G4

I have been less than satisfied with the Scala G4 units. The time to connect the 2 headsets is very slow. It takes 5-6 seconds after you start talking or press the button to make the connection and enable a conversation to begin. Sound quality is reasonable.

I use the sena smh-5's. They are perfect for two riders I. The same bike or two bikes close together. I wish I had gotten the smh-10 model due to the ability to talk with more than one headset at a time. The smh-10 has a firmware update that allows this.
