• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I ALMOST FEEL LIKE I TOOK UP SMOKING AGAIN !
Fire fire every place but where I live way out in the country.
Smoke is thick in the air here and I am about 100 miles away from the danger.
hard to breath when outside..
I feel sorry for all the people in danger.
Stay safe

Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of those affected.:pray:

There is a LOT of collateral damage going on there.

Can't imagine what it must be like. Watching news would lead a person to believe the entire state is on fire. I was taken aback by a report I saw about the fires around Vacaville. Went to high school in Vacaville back when it was a small town of 25,000 or so. It's now around 100,000 and residents must be very worried about the proximity of the fire or fires as the case may be.

Firefighters definitely get a good dose of smoke. When I'd come home from a fire, my boys would always say I smelled like a bar-b-q. I would try to give the crew a break at intervals in a safe place with clear air, if I could find a spot that fit the bill. And I had 2 firefighers over the years that would light up a cigarette during these breaks. That blew me away! You couldn't smoke while you worked. But it was OK to do so on a break.

We're getting a lot of that smoke here in northern Wyoming. I can't see the mountains three miles away and at times it is hard to see a home on a hill a mile away. I'm having to cage it over to our CMA state rally tomorrow, because I can't handle breathing all that shmutz.:gaah: Prayers up for calm winds, cooler weather, rain, safety for those fighting the fires, and those impacted by them.
