• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Windshield question

I talked to Marcel...I'm 5'10", he says the F11 (27"), and $250. The BRP touring shield is nowhere to be found, and if I had that I would try the Laminar Lip first. It may not be perfect, but easily removable for city riding. The alternate is the Mels touring shield... $129.00 on EBAY.

Anybody try the Mels shield yet? I know we have believers in the F1 and F11, but they're twice the cost.

Got an opinion?

There is a post on the MMG windshield on ebay I have ordered one The post on talk.com says he is 5,7 and he has to stand up to get the wind to hit his helmet.

"The BRP "touring" windshield does not even deserve to call itself a windshield...and it certainly does not compare to Marcels"

I agree too. I am only 5' tall and the trouring windshield directed the wind right into my helmet to the point I was sure the helmet was going to fly off my head. Now my other issue is that Marcel promised me a new shield by tomorrow and said he would send a label via email for me to send the old shield back. I have not heard from him since and my emails are going unanswered. I guess my trip to South Dakota will be done with just the stock shield, which I don't think will be too bad.

After 2 days with my new Marcel F1 windshield: what a difference! Riding mostly with 70 mph interstates in Fl (I275,I75 and I4). The best add on on my :spyder:.

Twodog,
I am one of the few who are quite happy with BRP's tour windshield, but there are so many out there that are not. I am sure you can find one for sale either on this site, or at Spydertalk.com. Then you won't have to wait for BRP to get one to your dealer. Ryde Safe and Enjoy
