• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. wind deflector modifications...

I see that there has been an ongoing issue with the wind deflectors. There were apparently two diff sets in the box that I shipped home.

The instructions for mounting are almost unreadable so I did some reading here, looked at pics (both on the net and ebay), and I get enough to be able to install. However, the exhaust issues that most are having...

An extension of the exhaust is one option, but has anyone tried modding the wind deflectors directly? They mount so close to the body, I was wondering if a bit of a spacer, allowing some airflow might help.

Thoughts?

this is what part of my set looks like...

Also a pair of these was in the box. Dont see where they naturally match up to the bike. Any comments?

wind deflector

there should be 2 large angled plastic parts shown in the top photo they only fit one side so you have to figure this out

there should be 2 metal brackets with I think 4 tabs and 2 additional holes

the additional holes line up with the body panel screws you remove the body screws they hold the brackets on the bike (another trial and error thing to get them in the right spot )

the 2 flat panels are the inside cover that hides the metal brackets

install the bracket then the curved parts then the flats

use the Teflon washers to keep from scratching panels

something I did because mine were chaffing the paint on mine I got some door trim strip from the auto parts house in black the kind of stuff that you put over door edges to hide chips in the edge paint I placed this everywhere the deflector parts touched the painted parts seemed to work well have to work at mounting them due to the added thickness

wind deflector

if you don't have the brackets I no longer use the deflectors I went with the baker wings I have them in the garage still

ps. not real happy with the bakers they wont stay where I want them

Isn't the vents holes designed to let air flow through ? Why would you want to deflect air from that direction? Or am i missing something
