There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Will the Touratech Locking Mount for the ZUMO 660 fit an RT?

While returning form Longview, Washington Friday on I 5 at 65+ mph in the middle lane with plenty of 18 wheelers around me I had difficulty seeing my GPS for the glare. I reached up with my gloved hand to tilt the ZOMO 665 and away it went, never to be seen again. I just threw away $800 dollars. I have become very dependent on the GPS and I am now going through with drawls. I see (Video) that Touratech has a splendid package of ZUMO 660 and locking mount for less than the 665 cost me. Perhaps I'd be less likely to blunder and loose the GPS if it is locked. Does anyone have experience with this GPS locking system? Will it mount in the area of the existing GPS mount?

Yes, these are of my 2010 RT with a fixed mount. I can take pics of my 2014 RT with an adjustable mount, which works way better, if you would like. You have to drill some holes in the Touratech back plate, but not to hard to figure out. PM me and I will send you my number if you have any questions.

How difficult is it to hook up the Touratech in order to hear the directions through the Spyder's speakers?

The Touratech is only a locking bracket for your existing GPS mount. It doesn't effect the operation of the GPS device.

It's a driving light cover, painted black. I have the small Touratech visor on it.

The Sun Visor... Is that an item that I should seriously consider purchasing?
(I'm new to this whole GPS thing... :opps:)
Are there visors from other sources that I should also be looking at?
Thanks! :D

I will probably buy an Anti-Glare screen protector for the Zumo real soon. Visor doesn't help much.

Thanks, Steve...
I've only been staring at the GPS in the driveway so far; I don't know what'll happen when I finally get it out on the road! :D

The Zumo has an anti glare screen on it. I agree it's certainly not 100% but better than non zumo GPSs. If someone knows an anti glare screen protector that works I would love to know about it. :dontknow:
Cell phones are the same way. Some screens better than others but none that I have read about is perfect.

Regarding the potential unlatching of the Garmin from the cradle, is it viable to consider a replacement latch lever or possibly just rim the oem lever where maybe you need to use the key to push it in and release the unit.

Just an idea.

Yet another product opportunity for JT's machine shop ( or one of the others)? Perhaps a bracket with the sun shade already integrated?

That's a good idea to look at after SpyderFest. I do have a dash mount for the Garim nuvi 600 series. I've found with my smart phone up on dash and tilted back a bit the glare is reduced a bunch. Another thing is with the GPS or phone mounted up high you don't have to take your eyes so far off the road.
