• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

A couple of people have said in another thread that a RT hitch will work on my 2011 RS. If you have this setup then I want to hear from you. Did you run into any problems installing it. It looks pretty straight fwd. Besides wiring and a hitch was there anything else you did or found out you needed to do to make towing the trailer better. The RS was not made to tow according to BRP yet I think it should do a better job since it's the same engine and lighter in weight. Thanks for the help and info.:chat:

RT Hitch on '09 GS SM5

I have had an RT hitch on the GS SM5 since '10. I use an Electrical Connection Isolator Relay for the wiring. The unit connects to the positive and negative on the battery, then tap the left turn, right turn, running light, and brake light wires under the rear of the seat. This setup only reguires milliamps to trip the relay and the trailer lights are powered from the battery. My trailers have 5 wires. Does not affect the Can Bus of the Spyder. It has been trouble free for 4 years. Good luck

The RT hitch works fine, but the wiring harness is not directly compatible. The 2013 harness may be able to be fit or easily modifed, however. The earlier integral modules were very difficult to adapt so most owners just wired in a Hopkins or other suitable converter for 5-wire to 4-wire system. 5-wire trailers need to have a pigtail wired directly. BRP does not certify the RS for towing as it has no trailer mode, but there is no other reason not to tow with one. Many owners have done so...including Lamonster.
