• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Will a 2011 seat fit on a 2015?

We're thinking about trading in our 2011 RT-S for a 2015 RT-S. I have a Utopia backrest installed on the 2011 which I like just fine (and I think would prefer to the BRP backrest). I could buy a new Utopia and install it on the 2015, but was wondering about the feasibility of swapping the 2011 seat with it's existing backrest onto the 2015? Anything change in the design, or does it all line up the same in terms of bolts, lift shock, etc. etc.

Thanks for any input!

Yes; it will fit.
But I would also imagine that swapping the backrest over onto your new seat is also very do-able.

Depends...

Well, that depends. Removing the Utopia backrest from the 2011 seat would leave a hole in the top of the seat that would somehow have to be covered. Also the mounting bracket is different for the regular seat and the comfort seat. And I would check with Utopia, to see if the bracket would fit the newer seat - probably would, but not sure.

But yes, the two seats could be swapped, and whoever ended up owning the 2011 trade-in, would end up with a nice, brand new seat, and an option to install the BRP backrest. ...unless the BRP backrest can only go on the "Comfort Seat" - not sure about that. ;) (Can you clarify this last point for me, Bob?)

The newer seats seem to be just a bit more comfy, than the older ones. I don't know what they changed in the padding, but if it were me; I'd want to see how it feels, before making a decision. :D

Seats....

:agree: don't know how long you have had your Utopia nor how well they age but I would give the new roadster a good try first. You could pull the seat off the 2011 and hold on to it and if you do like it better swap it out and if not sell it. You get nothing for leaving it on the 2011....

I agree. The new comfort seats are much more comfortable than the older ones. Don't know about the regular seat on the newer RT's.

Thank you, all!

We have the regular seat, since I am not very tall. We rode the 2015 yesterday, and the seat felt the same as our 2011. So I think I will probably end up just having them swap the seats if we jump in and buy the 2015. I do need to get them to keep the strut on the new bike though, since the one on our 2011 lost its "hold me up" some time ago (which I gather is not uncommon). But might as well keep the backrest I like and am comfortable with!

Your artwork looks really neat!
Any pictures of Spyders in there for us? :D

Thank you, Bob!

I don't have any actual Spyders, but I do have this, lol:

If you decide to include any Spyder RTs in your artwork; please let me know!
Particularly if they happen to feature....
