There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. wierd belt adjustment

I went to adjust the belt on my wife's Can-am. After loosening the axle nut and loosening the adjusters every time I went to retighten the axle nut the axle would move back leaving play in the swing arm end caps. Anybody else have this. I have the alignment down but wanted a little more freeplay in the drive belt. Any suggestions

Tighten the right nut by placing the wrench below... then pull it toward you to tighten it up.

Not following, I tried by sitting behind the bike and pushing the rear tire foward, then tightening up the bolt, but as the bolt started to get tighter it walked the wheel towards me actually making the belt tighter. shouldn't those end cap adjusters be kinda holding the rear wheel in place?

belt

the belt tensioners hold the axle "back".put the wrench handle up and tighten pushing handle Forward" and "down"...if you were sitting behind and pulling the wrench back toward you you were fighting against yourself.

10-4 I gotcha :D Thanks

I have one that does not...

want to adjust. I have three of these things. One 08 and the 09 adjusted the first try and it only took 15 minutes to do each one. Matter of fact it took longer to get the tools and jack then to do the job. Now the other 08 is being real difficult, down right contrary in my opinion. I have been trying to get it adjusted about 5 thousandths off the inner sprocket lip for a month now. No success... It wants to squeeze up against the lip or ride the outter edge of the sprocket.

Everything seems to be in good shape... meaning bearings, belts, sprockets, etc. Tension is 260 to 280. All suggestions are appreciated.

Swing arm bearings?

I did not give them...

a thought. I guess I better loosen the belt and check them. I only have 3 thousand on this unit. I suppose if they were over tightened or the belt was to tight at some point they could be bad. I'll check them out next week. Thanks for the tip AtaDude. Asking questions and reading the posts here... reminds me of things my remember 'er:p forgot to remember.
