What I've heard..!!

mind you I don't have an RT but ryde with a lot of them. If I did have one I would go with the Yoshimura 77. Sweet sound not to loud to me. Sounds like an RT I ryde an RS with a Hindel much louder. You tube has many demos of exhaust systems for spyders. Might check it out..!! :thumbup:

I have had 4 different pipes on my 2012 RT and the Yoshimura R77 is the best by far in both quality and mellow sound! but if you want something louder than the rest, try the Attitude!

(Stock-->TwoBros-->SpyderAttitude-->Yoshimura)

I would agree that the Yoshimura is the best thru my research. I had heard them all but after talking with Jack outside the hotel in BHam Alabama I was convinced. Installed the Kewl Metal Performance Filter and removed the air box and resonator and put the much taller paper filter and now air flows thru the Vertika Vents straight inside. Not only is everything cooler but the Yoshi has given my RT a nice throaty sound. Not too loud but just right. Thanks Jack for all your insight that morning in Bham. I got the Yoshi and from looks and performance I am glad I did.

Wow, with all that Chrome your Yosh looks far more impressive than mine! :thumbup:

What was the performance gain with the Yoshimura? I have yet to see a dyno chart that compares it to stock. Two Brothers is the only one I've seen and they are only showing a 3-4 HP increase.

Dual RT Attitude 8" black is good sound and nice looking

The Yoshi I bought came to me damaged (dented in in the rear by the exhaust exit). I did get it for a great price, so I am not complaining. I haven't heard from Yoshi yet on replacement parts, and I needed something, so I spent $100 on a straight pipe off ebay. 2 1/2" pipe with a downturn at the end. No stainless or anything special, just a black tailpipe, but it worked. It was a bit louder than I wanted, and not mellow enough for my tastes. So....I cut the downturn off the end of the pipe, and picked up a pickup/SUV resonator add-on from the local Meijer's for 17 dollars. It is held on by three bolts, though it was supposed to use some clamping pieces with the bolts. They didn't quite fit in my application. I did fab up a support strap and clamp, just because. The resonator mated well internally with the pipe, and a little high temp rtv made a good seal. I am quite pleased with the sound, mellow and not too overbearing. I even got a thumbs up from a cop standing by his car, as I putted down the street at 20 mph in first gear. Less than 150 dollars invested, I'm happy.And before....

Modified stock muffler

I just finished modifying the stock muffler. I cut the end off the back and then cut 7 inches out of the muffler. I pushed the fiberglass back between the inner and outer shells then welded the inner and outer shells together on the end, then ground the surface smooth then welded the end back on. A coat of paint and reinstalled the end trim.
I makes more noise than stock but I like the sound. I have been running a straight pipe for most of the time I have owned my Spyder. It was a little loud on long trips. But cool around town and riding with my Harley friends. So now I have the best of both worlds.
also it idles better with the modified muffler than with the straight pipe.
