• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Which light/light strip to add?

I have a 2018 F3-S I have turned into a "T" with windshield, backrest, floorboards & saddlebags. I also just ordered Slingmods dual fog/driving light kit. I ride both day and night around here in South Florida.

I could spend $2000 on all the auxiliary lights and light strips available for this thing. So here is my question: If I wanted to add just one more lighting feature that would be the most functional and look cool also - which one do you guys and gals recommend?

Depends...

:agree: but if you are handy and enjoy the DIY world you can get LED lights in rolls and do your own. Little work lot less cost...

Any combination of vendors & DIY works "Be SEEN Be SAFE". TricLed is no longer on the home page but can be found & do offer quality products, as do most on the page. Browse & take notes of the farkle list provided on some signatures, might help narrow down where you want to start first. Good way is attending an event & some will offer on sight installation, plus you get to enjoy a trip :doorag:,event & meet other RYDERS:chat::bbq::yes: happy Farkeling:p

:agree: also ...my 14 RT is lit up like a Christmas tree, all DIY  ….yes I have been stopped but since they meet DOT color regs ,I haven't gotten a ticket. Actually LED lighting is a heck of a lot easier than say Plumbing …. There are + ( positive ) and - ( negative ) and as long as you keep it that way ( when wiring your Spyder ) you shouldn't have any problems ….. I highly recommend using a separate fuse box, and separating most of your extra lighting …. Check out Banggood.com for fuse blocks $5 to $10 … not fancy but they do what they are supposed to do.….and why you are on that site look at their selection for HEAT_WRAP, I solder all my connections and use the waterproof heat wrap over them...... jmho ….. Whatever you decide on: get it from either TricLEDs, or Spyderpops! nojoke

+1

I have an RT and just added a series of LEDs to the front end from SpyderPops -- over ("Spyclops II") and under (lighted bumpskid) the frunk, and the mirror turn indicators. They meet your "functional and look cool also" criteria. Of the lot, I'd go with the bumpskid first, but the other two are relatively inexpensive. My wife likes some of the fender offerings from both TricLED and SpyderPops, so I suspect we'll end up adding something there as well.

The one area where I would diverge from either TricLED or SpyderPops is on the third brake light in the rear. I plan to pick up the top case brake/run light from Custom Dynamics to finish out the "notice me" lighting for my Spyder. I prefer it to the offerings from TricLED and SpyderPops based on my research and conversations with owners, but as Bob said, they're all perfectly good. Just a personal appearance/function preference.

Here's a head-on view of the updated look:

Full mirror turn indicators are number one. Very bright and get noticed day and night. I don't know if the F3 has a place or need for a high 3rd tail/brake light like the RT. If it does, that would be my second addition. Third on my list would be a bump/skid lighted LED from TricLED. Other additional lights add additional visibility. But these 3 will greatly improve front, rear, side, and turning visibility with the biggest bang for your buck

Always liked the Knightrider light from TricLED and disappointed that there is nothing for the RT like that.

Well I got to see my fog/running lights tonight after install. Now I am definitely going to replace the head light bulbs with LED's. Those yellow halogens just aren't doing it.

As to the lighting, it is proving to be a bit of a conundrum. I really like the look of the knight rider cyclops; but I think I am leaning toward the upper and lower A-arm running light strips that also tie into the turn signals. But still looking at all your suggestions.

Love my hood light from spyderpops. Super easy to install and looks bada** on the road. The honey thinks it's pretty cool in the rear-view mirror of his bike. so...visibility is a plus.
