• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Where do you get your maintenance items?

For those that do their own servicing, where do you get your oil, filters, etc?
Do you only use BRP brand products?

I am capable of doing the maintenance items listed as "customer" in the manual, but I do not want to use poor quality products. That being said, I don't want to spend too much. :)

Thanks!

easy, BajARon for filters and oil. Delivered to your doorstep. site sponsor.

Baja Ron. Then you don't have to follow the countless threads on oil types. He does all of that for you.

(Is this where we all hoist Ron up on our shoulder, carry him around the room, and drink a beer or three in his honor?) :roflblack:

OK, it seems Baja Ron is the "go to" guy for this. Next question, how can I tell which transmission filter my 2012 RT-S SE5 has? I read that there is a short and long version and having never seen either, I don't know what to look for.

Sticker on oil tank

If you have the new filter you should have a sticker on the oil tank warning to use the right filter. Bajaron does not have the new longer trans filter yet or least I don't think so. You will have to get the trans filter from the dealer whether or not you currently have the longer filter. The new filter will come with a deeper replacement cap free of charge to fit the longer filter. My understanding that next year they will stop giving away the new cap with the filter.

I've bought oil filter kits from bajaron. I did by a filter from the local bike shop for around 10 bucks but no rings our washers. I buy oil at O'Reilly auto parts that's ma2 rated. They have both full and semi synthetic in my area.

Bajaron...he is one of our sponsors and an all around good guy!! Highly recommend his products!

BajaRon, I think I have everything Ron sells for the GS/RS. For OEM parts : http://www.cheapcycleparts.com/makes get the part at a discount and no tax or shipping a come right to your door. For others I use our vendor page, things recommed on this website, Amazon.com, Ebay, or search the web and in that order. That's IMHO.

Ron fer sure. But I'm not going to put him on my shoulders, bad back. However, I'll hoist a drink to him.
