• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

All of our orange screens have popped up after ridden for a while and no where near home. Luckily, nothing too serious and was able to clear the screan and make it back home.

Sorry..!!

can't vote on this one. Mine has never failed so can't say. For the relatively short time I have been here it's been pretty even. Better question is driver malfunction or manufacturers defect...:roflblack:

The 3rd option is no failure. I bought two new Spyders over the past four years and neither has had a failure. (exception was the dealer that delivered our RTS with a setup issue) Am I scared of a failure? I would have to say yes. I think these are way more temperamental then most any motorcycle or cager.

Had orange screens a couple times, but no failure on the road. Never had a start up issue.

No vote from me either way on this one. :yes:

A corollary to "Murphy's Law", states that whatever is going to go wrong; will do so at the WORST possible time... :shocked:

I can't vote either. We have two Spyders. The 2012 has had no issues. The 2010 has had some issues but nothing that has caused it to "fail".

When do they occurre

Well usually on a Sunday, a holiday weekend, when the hardware store is closed.
:rolleyes::roflblack:

Failure to start

Never had an orange screen or warning with 2010 RTSE5. Failure to start? Once due to dead battery, once due to nut on the seat and once TBD.:joke:

Brian, what prompted this question? Aren't you in Alaska watching whales and such?

LOL, I was. Awesome time on the cruise and excursions. I'm sure this group isn't interested in whale and eagle pictures though. LOL

Nothing prompted this question. I just thought about it while going down the buffet line one day and wondered if the question was ever asked. The only Orange Display I get now is because my rear trunk lid has popped loose. It does this frequently. The strut won't keep the lid up so I'm not concerned.

I have had a couple failures: at Spyderfest last year which may have been a bad battery so of course startups were "iffy". I once had a dead battery at a cemetery. Must be a message there somewhere I suppose. I also had a a clutch hub disintegrate outside Durango 2 years ago while coming home on Poop Out Hill 10 miles west of town. Fires surrounded us at the time so it was an interesting morning. Fun Bike Center in Durango took good care of me but I had to rent a car for a week. Thank God I was so close to town.

I have never been in LM on my 2010 RT. My 08 RS however, was a different story. But I miss that bike sometimes.
