• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

When did BRP start using Kanines?

My wife's 2024 F3T doesn't have Kanines on it . I thought that has been the new Kenda for a few years now. Please enlighten me.

A few Spyders came out with Kanines several years ago. But it was a flash in the pan and quit about as quickly as it began. Who knows if it was a test run or a temporary work-around for a supply shortage. Many hoped it would be permanent. The Kanine is definitely superior to the OEM Kenda (both are made by Kenda)

Kanines are not OEM with the NEW Spyder. They are slightly better than OEM Kenda supplied. Still NOT better than auto tires. The front tires can be changed at many tire shops and balanced cause of the bigger hole in rim. Rear tire is more of a problem. Some dealerships will ONLY install a Kenda of only these 2 styles. I am fortunate that my Spyder dealer WILL install auto tires. Even the rear tire can be changed at the tire shops, if you take it off and take it to them. The rear tire seldom needs any balance with weights, as they can't balance cause of small center hole. I have installed Centranomics wheel balancers on all 3 wheels.

We've run automotive tires on her past Spyders and were anxious to see how the Kanines compared as an OEM tire this time. Seems that I misunderstood the inclusion of Kanines as the new Kenda tire. So, it looks like we'll just go back to Kumhos, etc. after she burns through these Kendas.

The Kumho is a decent tire. But the Altimax or Vredestein will give you somewhat improved dry traction and even more improvement with wet traction. The Kenda Kanine has gotten mixed reviews. But from what I've gathered, they are round and balance out better than the OEM Kenda's. Some are happy with the wear factor, others are not. For my money, traction in all types of weather is more important than how many miles the tire gives. Surprisingly, many are willing to sacrifice traction for higher mileage.

To each his own.

We belong to the group that places traction above mileage. Many of our Vipers, Corvettes, AMGs, etc. had ultra-perf summer-only tires that were lucky to get 8-10K miles. Their low mileage was easily worth the incredible traction they offered. We ran Vredesteins on her last F3 and liked them. We just got back from a lunch ride today (100 miles) and my wife complained about her rear (OEM Kenda) losing traction when leaving a stop sign. Kudos to my 70 year old lady!!

I like that! 'Losing Traction!' Now that's smart! 'Officer, I simply lost traction. That's why all those black marks are on the pavement. Exhibition of Speed? I have no idea what you're talking about!
