There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Whats up with people?

You just have to wonder about some people. A few weeks ago I was out on a cruise at lunch with my spyder along with my buddy John with his Harley. We were at a stop light in a double lane, John was in front of me, then this dude in his car pulls up in the other lane next to me and points to his ear. Now, I didn't know what he was trying to tell me. I figured he wanted to hear the sound of my spyder, so I reved the engine some, then the light turned green and John took off, as I started to go the guy flips me the middle finger and has a look of discuss and takes off. I'm thinking what the heck is his problem and just kind of smilled at the whole matter and kept riding to catch up with John. I told John that your Harley made all the noise, but I got the crap for it. John just laughed.
Anyhow, to make a long story short, I was out again tonight for a cruise. I had to go back to work for a couple hours. I was headed down the road, in the same area where I got flipped off, and then in the opposite lane this dude drives by and with his hand out the window giving me the finger again. Wow, I couldn't believe it! It looked like the same guy again. This time I'm just like..."WHAT IS THIS GUYS PROBLEM?
I really think he hates the Spyder and any development of such motor toys and feels that anyone shouldn't be riding around and disturbing his quiet boring life with such stupid vehicles. Well, EXCUSE ME for existing and doing the things that I enjoy. What a jerk! I don't even know who this guy is. Who is he to judge me and my hobbies?
Gee, I'm just a single dad that goes to work everyday to support myself and my two teenage kids and I work hard for the things that me and the kids have. At present, I don't have a lady in my life, so I just take life for what it is and just live one day at a time and try to enjoy what I can.
I usually mind my own business and try to be respectful towards other people. When I met some of you people at the Spyder banner ride in Brattleboro, I didn't know what to expect, but I knew I would be around people who share the same interest as I do and it was fun being there with all of you. I guess what I'm trying to say is, I don't need to feel out of place just because some moron decides to hate what I have or what I like doing because it doesn't meet his standards. In fact, most people that I meet on the street are facinated by the spyder and think it's a cool vehicle. I wish you were all here with your spyders and we could find this guy and rally up and surround him and give him a taste of some...

After I read this, I just kind of sat here thinking..."Why?" I think you did well in doing nothing. With the society of today, with so many "signs" exchanged between "special interest groups", aka gangs, one never knows when something you do will cause you harm. It's even a bit nerving to wave at someone in another car, not knowing what the response will be. I had one instance a few years ago when someone chased me on my motorcycle because I used an empty lane to get ahead of him. He passed me up, I backed off, he pulled over on the shoulder and gave me the finger as I passed then pulled back on behind another car. Until I turned off onto another road I was a bit scared...I am not one to want to challenge a car or maybe someone's firearm. I am glad for you that nothing happened to you. Ryde carefully.

It was obviously your fault...you did it, you should own up to it, and you should make proper reparations. (I have no idea what I'm talking about but we are in that type of society now, so get used to it!)
:gaah:

Thankfully I've found people like this to be the minority. Easy to say but I suggest you forget the incident and enjoy the ride. Life is too short and there will never be a shortage of idiots.

Focus on that, bro'.

We did have a good time (just like we usually do posting here!), all with people we really barely know.

I'm not the best role model, but "Don't take anything personally" is one of those saying that, when I can pull it off, usually saves my sanity.

Resentment is very, very draining and doesn't get me any satisfaction.

(Hey, riding season is just beginning! )

:agree:around here you don't neven think of blinking high beams anymore to let someone know there is a problem ahead. That is a big challenge with alot of special intrest groups :gaah::ani29:

I would check the back of your jacket, maybe your Harley buddy some sort of sign like "YOU SUCK" or something on it. :D

Brattleboro was cool. Just as I knew it would be!!! John is right. Focus on that.

Lots of stressors in today's society. Economy doesn't help. Guy probably resented your ability to have a luxury item like the Spyder. Too bad. You can't save everyone and neither can you go around feeling guilty that you are OK financially or otherwise when someone else is not.

Hard as it is, you have to try and let stuff like this roll off you. Whatever that guy was feeling it's just his opinion. Doesn't make it the truth.

My favorite quote for these type of moments.

"God made a few of THEM just so the rest of us would no how NOT to behave."

Life's examples are there for us to learn from without having to experience the consequences of actually taking the action ourselves.

Just returned from the Houston-area and the "Ride for Kids". The Spyder Team was there.... took care of breakfast for us plus the entry fee. I'd guess 15 Spyders... We were all kept busy answering questions about the Spyder prior to the ride. Met many fine riders!! How long was the ride? I had to stop for fuel about 3/4 into the ride; I filled up and got right back in the line!!

I let my brother ride my Spyder as we were off to breakfast Sunday morning. I saw him ahead of me at a red light - fellow in a panel truck had his arm out the window and shaking his hand at him. Found out when we got to Denny's that the fellow was saying "WOW, what an awesome looking bike!!"..

I checked the back of my riding shirt. Has three patches:

1. "Bad Girl! Now go to my room"
2. "Chaos-Panic-Disaster -- My work here is done"
3. "Let's Roll"

Shirt front has:

1. Spyderlovers patch
2. "What a long strange trip it's been"
3. "I wish you were a beer"

Our Houston area ride was a long one if you were one of the hundreds of cars that had to wait for everyone to pass. The riders were waving at them -- they were waving back. (No middle fingers in site). Kids were having a blast! Cameras out taking pictures.

Sorry that you had to run across the one A** H*** out there -- :cus: ....

Sorry for the long post, but I'm just back from a most enjoyable weekend with hundreds of bikers and non-bikers... all got along just fine... ..plus 500 very smooth miles on my Spyder.

Now I'll wait to see if my brother is a Spyder convert or not. :ohyea:

Life is like the circus. Just be glad you don't have to pay to see the clowns!

Well, you're more patient than I am - first time I would have let it slide - second time probably would have followed him and nicely asked him what his issue with me was. For sure if it happened again I would follow him and at least get a plate number - could always turn it into the cops for harassment!

I've never had such a reaction. Worst I've had is the occasional HD guy that looks dead straight ahead - ignoring the Spyder and not dropping a hand back at me.

Finger Flippers...

These people, (the finger flippers) really make you scratch your head and wonder sometimes don't they? :dontknow:
For me, I really have to shake that stuff off or it will aggrivate me the whole gosh darn day. Then they win! I don't like the sound of that. I don't like someone else being in control of my mood. The Serenity Prayer comes to mind about now.
Thanks Spyderlovers for the great input on this subject. Jerry
