• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What's the Multifunction gauge display screen made of? Any screen protectors?

I am trying to find out if anyone knows what the cover of the multifunction gauge is made of, I have a small scratch and want to polish it out but do not know if its glass or polycarbonate or something else. I have purchased a product called ...Displex display polish that says it will polish out all scratches on cell phones mp3 players and PSP IT SAYS DO NOT USE ON TOUCH SCREENS OR POLYCARBONATE (PC)
So I would appreciate it if anyone knows what is that covers the LCD screen and gauges and if there is any way I can remove the scratch without making it worse.
How the LCD screen got scratched was I put my glasses down against the screen glass to glass thinking that it would not damage the screen or my glasses but on picking them up I must have touched the edge of the folded glasses on the LCD screen and scratched it. I am thinking it is made of polycarbonate as it scratched so easily.

Multifunction gauge display

It is not made of glass!! It is some type of plastic and obviously very, very soft.

You might want to try a product like "Plexus", but if you can feel the scratch with your fingernail I doubt you will remove it without doing more damage to the screen.

Perhaps we should all consider getting a screen protector like the ones that are available
for Mobile Phones, Digital Cameras GPS Units etc

Not sure if anyone makes one but I suppose if someone has the dimensions one could be made -
I see some screen protectors have Antiglare/Antireflective properties,

Wonder if that would work and how the screen appearance of the Spyder Cluster would look like ?

Someone may have already fitted one and maybe willing to share the details

Yes I thought of that and I have ordered a scratch resistant screen protector for an Ipad that I thought I could make fit even if its just over the middle square LCD part ....but then have to take into consideration that this a plastic (polycarbonate) material, would it adhere to that surface (ipad is glass I think) and would it withstand the weather ...rain and washing of the bike. Another point is if it goes on OK but starts to peel due to weather etc what would happen to this soft plastic surface when you peel it off...would it be damaged or not....anyone out there with some old plastic covered clusters that we can experiment on???
