• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What's the difference between Silver, Gold, or Platinum dealers?

Platinum being the highest I assume, I am wondering what the difference is with dealers displaying these certifications/accreditations? When you search BRP dealers each dealer displays one of the 3 levels. Is there a real difference and does it change if the designated tech is no longer working there? Does Platinum mean a tech has actually been to the factory and trained, and on what vehicles has he been trained? Useful guide or not?

It was my understanding that the dealership "levels" were based on sales, not customer feedback, etc.

You may be right Monk, I was thinking it had something to do with technical training, service expertise of the tech staff. I'm going to ask next time the training my Spyder tech has received.

Another vote for sales levels. Techs come and go unfortunately. If a dealer loses their five star tech (just making that designation up), are they going to pull the platinum sign off the door? My dealer had a four year old sign on his front door. They were far from platinum by that time.

If the dealer has a BRP certified spyder tech working in the shop, that tech should have his certification posted for public viewing along with the date it was issued.

Supposedly from the JD Power surveys BRP sends out after sale & services, however much they pay attention to is a guess. Survey can restrict answers. So to not really offer attention to some details. Like recently couple of dealers not providing the required second key! It varies too much. Best to call or visit yourself for Your proper opinions, can find severAl +/- comments here for preferred or avoid dealers.
