• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I'm tired of looking at my hands in the mirror while riding, should I pick up a pair of Kewlmetal?

Seems to be the only choice the seasoned veterians recommend. :dontknow:

I think they are the only game in town. A good product and for me was money well spent.

I don't have mirror extensions so cannot comment on quality but other options for you include: SpyderCity mirror extensions or bar end mirrors. There are also bar end mirrors that include LED signal lights.

I've also seen pictures where someone eliminated the stock mirrors. Added bar end mirrors and surface mount turn signals.

Combine Kewlmetals with an F1 windscreen and you have solid mirrors and protection from the wind.

I cannot imagine a better combination. :2thumbs:

I have the Kewlmetal extentions  I used to see my hands and legs, not anymore, I finally can see what's behind me and the sides. Best mod, I would recommand this one. :2thumbs:

I have the Kwel extensions & HAD an F-1, sold the F1 (PM me if you want to know why) and replaced it with the Madstad setup. Now I have a windshild that works for me.

With the F1, you have to heat/warp the windshield to fit the mirrors, then cobble together a bracket to tie the mirrors and WS together - yep the mirrors stay put. When I removed the F 1, oops, the mirrors folded!! Following advice listed herein... I cranked those suckers down, and voila - they stay put.

Just my $0.02

Sorry Dragon. Mine just went right on perfectly. Maybe you had a defective shield. My only problem was actually with the BRP screw sleeves which I had to replace when I removed the original shield.

mirror extentions

the instructions for the kewlmetals said there was enough wire to gently pull out. not on my 2008 SE5...I had to pull with all my weight to get just enough wire out to bolt those puppies on:gaah:. I couldn't figure out how to open up the cowl and took a chance with pulling.

I think the Kewlmetal extensions are the way to go if you're going that route.

I really like my bar mount mirrors but you have to get the NMN risers for them to work.
