• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I see a lot of spyders on the roads around here and I met one member that lives near by. It would be nice to see about sharing info and meeting somewhere for coffee.

Regards,

Randy

Just bought mine this morning!! Delivery week after next though so Lifestyles can install bags, windshield, seat etc. I'm a summer visitor to Anacortes. Looking forward to getting together to learn more about the bike from other riders. Will keep watching this spot.

Lets meet at the Alger Bar and Grill at about 9:00 9:30 on sunday then leve from there any one eles want to come or join us along the way?
Truck,I phoned Bluestratos in Lynden but most Sundays he has other commitments. I talked to my friend chillicp (Bruce) from Chilliwack, but his RS is in the shop waiting for wheel bearings. They gave him an RT loaner but I'm not sure what the border guards would think about that, or the dealer, either, lol. Chillicp said he would get back to me about it. Either way, I'll be at Alger tomorrow.

Turned out to be a great ryde! Nice weather, beautiful scenery, twisty roads, good company. How can you beat that? We just needed some more ryders to make it perfect.

Wow, I forgot to check this thread.. my appologies

Sorry I missed all the fun!
And yes, Sparkly, I did get my license, it was actually very easy. I practiced alot so when I did the test I was really pushing the max speeds. I came through the serpintine so fast he said I must have broken some kind of record, lol.. I did loose a point on the fast break. I nailed the antilocks right on the line (a hair before I believe) but stopped 1 foot long!, lol.. He said it really pays to not go above 15 mph with anti locks, if you get up to 20 as I did they wont stop in time. Thats hard to believe, lol and he laughed about it too..

In any case I am legal and ready to rumble, lol... or what ever we call it, lol..

Has any once consider starting a local club?We could have a news letter that can be mass mailed and set up rides a bit easier. Maybe get together for coffee or breakfast now and then.

Thanks

Randy

back in the area

Last July I posted that I had just got my Spyder. Spent the rest of the summer in Anacortes but never did get together with anyone local. Will be back in Anacortes Sunday for the summer and hope to meet and ride with others. My favorite rides are down to Coupeville for mussels, over to Conway for oysters, and up the Chuckanut for breakfast in Bellingham. Wow, I sense a pattern to my rides - like in Texas where I spend the winter, the rides all end up with BBQ. Guess I like to ride and eat - not a bad way to spend my retirement.
I'll be at Fidalgo Bay RV Park from Sunday through Labor Day. My reservation is for space 165 so if you're in the area, stop in to say 'hello.'
