• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What LED's to replace the OEM HID lights - Low, High, & Fog?

Good day all,
I was inquiring what would be the correct LED bulb to fit when I change out the original Hid's? Looking to change out the low, high, and the fog lights. Just newly picked up a 2014 Spyder RT recently; thanks to all for any thoughts.

gvs1 -- the lighting fixtures differ among countries. In the US my Spyder uses the upper lamp fixtures as combined Hi/Lo beam with single filament bulb and with a shutter controlling beam shape. I wanted 4500 Kelvin color temperature so HID is working well for me. But if your Lo beam fixture is separate from your Hi beam fixture then HIDs won't work due to the long delay (1-2 seconds) for warmup unless you use a delay relay to provide overlap. And with the supporting electronics HID installation isn't for the faint-hearted. So I think LEDs will be your better choice.

PS in 2014 BRP used incandescent bulbs for head and fog lights. No HIDs or LEDs.

Thanks for your thoughts, could you confirm if a 9005 HB3 led light be the correct one? Yes, I also read that LED were not available for the spyder back in 2014.
