• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What jack do you use to change the tires??????

The bike is so low I cant get a jack under the frame! What do you all use??? 2011 RTS is what I am talking about. Thanks!!

To just change a tire, I just use an automotive sissors type jack! Goes under the A-arm quickly & is easy to get the tire just about 1/2" off the floor. Bandit :doorag:

My floor jack is about a quarter of an inch too high at its lowest level to get under the lower control arm, so I just drive the front wheels up onto a 2x4 (one under each) to get just a bit more clearance for the floor jack.

Just need to make sure you put the 2x4 back under the tire when you lower the jack!

Many..!!

There are many jacks that will work. If you plan on doing work on the roadster best is the motorcycle/ATV jacks from harbor freight or sears. I have a fast pump floor jack which fits fine underneath. Car jack will work as well but make sure you have good support and chocks...:thumbup:

I agree with an ATV jack. Mines rated for 1500 lbs, so, plenty of room, it can lift the whole Spyder rs with out an issue.

The Harbor Freight motorcycle jack is an inexpensive solution for the home shop. Sometimes coupons are available so you can purchase for as little as $60!!

I got the Pittsburg Racing 1 1/2 ton jack for $59 and Just changed the Elka,s back to the GS and it worked great.
Some complain about it coming down to fast (Not something you want when your are lowering the A Arm to meet the shock hole)
BUT If you release the handle slowly and twist to the right as it starts to lower it stops and Will adjust Great.

I just took the RT front tires off to bring to dealer yesterday and Pushed it in dead center from the front and it raises the front end evenly so you can slide you Jack Stands or wood blocks under both front wheels. Low profile and goes down to 3 3/8 inches.

I love it!!!!
