What is this - vacant plug & box behind Glove Box?

Hey there …. First post question
we bought a used 22 Ryker 900 sport from a dealer for my better half. I know next to nothing about them so it is a learning process for me. I pulled the glovebox to put some LED’s and I found a plug unplugged on the backside. What is the small rec box for ?
Any insight for me?

When connected your locking trunk will only open when the Ryker is running and locked when engine is off.

It was already unplugged when I removed the box
