• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What is the door bell noise from Zumo GPS?

2017 Spyder RT Ltd occasionally gives me a loud door bell noise coming from my Zumo GPS. I have pulled off the road and checked my phone for messages, texts, missed calls, but nothing there.
Someone suggested it might be a warning for a school zone? The noise is rather startling.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Warren

Yes, it's the Driver Assistance notification bell.
Here are the possibilities from the Zumo XT manual.

Driver Assistance Settings
Select Settings > Driver Assistance.

Rider Alerts
Allows you to enable or disable alerts for upcoming zones or road conditions (Rider Awareness Features and Alerts).

Speeding Alert
Alerts you when you are exceeding the speed limit.

Route Preview
Shows a preview of the major roads in your route when you start navigation.

Break Planning
Reminds you to take a break and shows upcoming services after you drive for an extended time. You can enable or disable break reminders and upcoming service suggestions.

Automatic Incident Detection
Enables the device to detect a possible vehicle incident.

Incident Notification
Allows you to set up a contact to be notified when the device detects a possible vehicle incident.

Proximity Alerts
Alerts you when you approach speed cameras or red light cameras.

On my Garmin, I get a bell to warn me of over the speed limit, a new speed limit up or down, and take a break warnings at about two hours.

caught me off guard TOO!!! on my "out west trip 2018" after hearing that doorbell, I took easy with spyder. was on my way to Rocky Mtn State park, couldn't figure out where or how that happened. next time just happened to be paying attention. went thru a school zone, will trigger that NOISE!!!

I believe Garmin has their route maps set to give the school zone warning about 1/4 to 1/2 mile before the zone depending on the speed limit. At lease that's how the alert sounds in my neck of the woods where I know the school zones.

Mine does it for every school zone also. You can change it in the settings. ( school, construction, over speed, accident alerts, alternate route suggestions to save time, etc. The school zone is automatically clicked on mine.

Yup...there is a settings adjustment for the above.

Ditto hear, mine seems much louder than the rest of the notifications, I wondered if it was the Helmet Intercom. This may not work but is your sound kind of like "didledidledidledidle", assuming its the same one. I turned off the speed/corner etc notifications but this remains. I often either on the phone or getting traffic updates and the volume is fine till this cuts in and drills holes in my ear drum
