• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What have you learned?

There were a few things about the Spyder I thought I was sure of when I bought the Spyder. Things I would either need to change immediately or would never get used to. After a month, I have learned a few things...

First, I thought I would never get used to not having a hand brake. Now, I don't miss it at all. The foot brake alone works just fine. Interestingly, I have no issue going from the Spyder to the Harley. It's as natural as going from the bike to the car.

Second, I thought I would need a larger shield immediately. Now, I am comfortable driving down the superslab doing 80 with either my full face Shoei or a 3/4 HD Carbon Kevlar. It feels pretty good. May change my mind when it gets colder, but for now I am fine with the stock shield.

Third, I was fairly sure I would want to sell my Harley as the Spyder would just take it's place. Well, it doesn't. I appreciate my bike more than ever and while I may someday sell it just because the Spyder is simply safer and it no longer makes financial sense to keep both, it won't be because the Spyder is as fun to ride as a bike. It's just a more practical. The good news is I'm putting fewer miles on the car!

How about you?

I learned it would be nice to have another 30 Horsepower and a larger spread in the transmission between gears 2-5...120 KM's/hour at 4000 RPM would be good....also stiffer suspension.
I find the seat/handlebars/screen etc to be no problem so far...... but after more longer rides my opinion may change...
I like it and my wife loves it!
BRP have done quite a good job for the first model and i'll be putting my name down smartly if an uprated version is ever produced ...
