• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What happened to the thread where the guy was making his own floorboards? I cant find it even by searching my replies.

That's nice. A guy comes up with an idea that many of us would like to have seen, makes a comment that he made a few extra sets, and the thread gets canned...:sour:

Sponsor Protectionism.

Sponsors pay for the right to advertise - so the argument is people who do not sponsor SpyderLovers should not be free to post 'adverts' for products or services within the forum.

However if the post is just being critical of a service/product offered by a sponsor then to remove that would suggest a form of sponsor led censorship. Personally I feel the deletion of DIY tips would also fit in this category.

Now when I last read that thread it at first seemed to be the latter (mainly on price) with the guy also stating he was going to make his own and perhaps provide an insight into how - at that point no reason to remove the thread. But to offer to make them for others for a price, even in the context of 'a few extra', then removal is justified I'm afraid.
