• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What happened to "only 2500 units"???

I looked at the site where people were registering their Spyders and the numbers far exceed the 2,500 mark. What gives, anybody know?
My dealer said that they are making more but the jackets were only given to the first 2,500. Any truth to this?
Also - my dealer in Massachusetts said that they cannot get the new exhaust until Mid May.....why are we seeing it online on some Spyders then???? :dontknow: :dontknow: :dontknow:

See the official web site for the details on the over 33 - 3500 units...

As for the exhausts, it's on an order basis. I ordered mine last April and got it last week. They have a very great backlog of orders so may take some time to fill...

Just sayin...

Okay, here is a new thought, remember guys this is more in jest than anything, but it is possible. Maybe there really are only 2532 + demo Spyders in North America. Someone slipped up and sent 1000 or so Premier Editions that were intended for North America to Australia. Have you noticed, after those two 900 series Spyders arrived in Australia, there still haven't been any 900 series Spyders posted here or on Can-Am Talk or on the BRP Ryder site either. I think there is another series without numbers too, 1400 I think, not sure. Where are those Spyders? I think they are down under. Mr LaCroix, told us in the Chat that Australia had it's own Premier Edition rollout. Upon further reflection, that does not make any sense. Either it is a Premier Edition or it's not. It was rolled out for the first 2500 models to North America. I think BRP is back pedaling here.

my guess there will be more than that are are at 3783 and still counting so much for 2500 only :edit:

BRP often speaks with a "forked tounge". They get caught up in lies constantly. Every 2008 Spyder will no doubt wind up as a "limited edition".............all 10,000 of them !!

...I'm not so sure. It appears that numbering over 2,500 have a different code in the VIN number. Just some of the blog I picked up off the internet. You can have number 3,6++ but the code is not PE? Maybe PM? Has someone else picked up on this?

I have never heard such a thing. The PE number is the last 4 digits of your VIN number and then they put a plaque on your handlebars that say Premier Edition #2518 in my case. My husband is Premier Edition 3783 and there is no PE or PM in his VIN number. 3783 are just the last 4 digits of the number. The model # determines where a Spyder is shipped and also the color of that unit, this is a few:
A18G Yellow North America
A18H Silver North America
A18N Yellow Europe
A18P Silver Europe

That is all I know.

This is true, however the non PE editions have a new model #, A18J I believe is one of them.
