• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What Colors would you like your Spyder Web Luggage Rack ??

We have finished the first CAD model of the Web Theme rack top for the Kewlmetal luggage rack. I can't wait to get some metal ones in my hands and get them through powder coat!!!

I was wondering what color combinations everyone would be interested in?? I am looking to make the first ones whith the rack base black and the web yellow?

ANY SUGGESTIONS ????

Here is the base already installed: The top plate just bolts on top of this for a larger rack.

I was wondering how a silver or yellow base and a black web would look, but this picture is pretty. Seems a shame to cover it with luggage. ;D

Mad Matt--

I am writing to let you know that everyone would like the web in silver. ;D

I sort of agree with Scotty, keep all the bases black, and offer the web part in silver and yellow and red, if you can.

On a related note, was there a discussion a while back about whether the (nice) BRP backrest would mount up to your (very nice) luggage rack for those who would replace the (not so useful) BRP rack??

Thanks for all your efforts on our behalf! Nice work!!

If someone would send me a BRP backrest to borrow, I will make that happen. My Luggage rack will have provisions for mounting ANY trunk such as a GIVI. I think the same mount points could easily be adapted to accept the BRP backrest with some sort of adaptor piece. Of course I am saying all this and I have not seen the bottom of the BRP backrest, so hopefully I dont eat my words!!!!!

Thanks again, Matt.

If nobody else offers you one sooner, let me see what the lovely bride says (that part of the Spyder belongs to her ;D ).

Do you have a guess how long you'd need to borrow it? (It was dead useful for the Americade-Valcourt ride, and the season has just begun...)

For me, Black on black with no web design.
Thanks

Jeuchler,

Can you email me a pic of the bottom of the BRP backrest? That would help me have an idea what it will entail.

Hey, Matt

Hope these give you an idea.

In each photo, the top of the photo is toward the front of the Spyder.

This is a top down view of the BRP luggage rack, with the top plate removed. (The backrest bottom plate replaces it.)
The red arrows point to the slots that the backrest "hooks" pivot down into when locking it in place.

This next one is the bottom of the backrest itself.

And this next one is just a top view of the backrest. The arrows are merely pointing to the approximate location where, on the underside, those hooks are.

Hope this helps some. Everyone here knows I take the worst photos... :dontknow:

Also, remember Spyderweb put up good pics of the install; some of those show some good detail:

The GIVI mounting plate will be a seperate piece that adapts the GIVI trunk to our base. You won't need the top plate with the trunk.

Jeuchler,

Thanks for the pics!!! Wow, that's going to be harder than I thought because my rack does not have those holes in it to accomodate the BRP backrest... let the nerdy engineer side of my brain chew on it a few days and lets see what it comes up with!

My color preference would be red followed by black.

Any idea if these will function with the Corbin seats and backrests?

Judging from the pics on Corbins website, I don't see why it wont work. If you are the first to try it, and it didnt work, we will gladly give you a full refund , of course!

Black would be fine with me.
Would the luggage rack work with the Thibault-GIVI side case mounting bracket since it has a mounting screw that goes in to the original tail piece and a cross member? :doorag:

My luggage rack has the same screw hole as the original tail piece, if you are referring to the single 6mm that holds the tail piece on.
