• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

That's the GPS Harness that connects with the radio there. The plug you are holding in the one pic is to plug in the optional traffic antenna if subscribe for the service.

Ahh. So can I connect my phone to that other 3.5mm jack and have music. Instead of all the way in the back?

I did not read your previous post close enough. Sorry. When you said other 3.5 stereo jack. That is the microphone jack for the GPS. It does not connect to the radio.

If you want to connect to the radio with your phone for music without plugging it in in the rear trunk. You can BT it there. Buy a BT receiver. Plug it into the rear trunk and then pair your phone with it.

Is the traffic antenna installed for the 590 or the 660? I did not see any information in the 590 manual about an off-the-air traffic services. The only service they mentioned was pairing with your phone and purchasing an add-on for the Garmin Smart Link app.

I don't know if there is an antenna or service available for the Zumo 660 either but the connector is there on both the motorcycle mount harness and the car mount. That's what Garmin labels as the purpose of that connector. For the 590 I don't think there is a built in traffic option.

Thanks billybovine! That is what I got from the manual as well, no built-in option and you had to go with the smart link phone option. Just wanted to check since manuals are notorious for not giving you all the information you really need. ;)

IIRC - GARMIN 665, not 660 has antenna for SiriusXM Satellite Radio, NavWeather and NavTraffic (subscriptions required).

BTW - Why does Can-Am obtain GPSs, e.g., 660 (2016) and 590 (2017), that are discontinued? Garmin pull a quicky on them?

The 660 or 660LM never had satellite radio or weather but does have an option for traffic on the car mount. Since the 665LM 660 and 660LM share the same mounts of course the plug for the antenna is there.

Yes the Zumo 660 is discontinued and has been for years, but the Zumo 660LM is still a current version and is what BRP has been using for several years.
The Zumo 590LM is still a current model and not discontinued and was used by BRP for the 2015 models and looks like they are going back to for 2017.

Thanks for the info.... I didn't know about the 660LM on the Spyder. Website only says 660 or 590...

Anyway, the good news is my wife has recovered from surgery and I can bend my knee after I totaled by two-wheeler.:opps:

So next week we plan to go on a test ride and maybe buy a 2016RTL. Woo, woo!!!
