What are the Differences between '20+ F3 Limited and '20+ RT Limited???

I have trying to see and experience the differences between the two Limited '21 Models. I finally was able to ride down to Santa Teresa Motorsports, a nice 100 miles away after talking to them on the phone and being told they have both models to compare. Well that was total BS. They had 2 new RT Limiteds that I could only sit on. :banghead:

Turns out that the same group owns the 3 or 4 dealerships in New Mexico that handles the Spyder line and when they say "yes" they have the models on the floor to look at, come on down. Turns one could be in their Albuquerque store and the other in their Santa Teresa Store, some 300 miles apart... :yikes: BTW, their freight and set up fee is a fixed $1,500.00.

I have never even seen a new F3 Limited.

Has anyone done a side-by-side comparison sit and ride between the '20+ F3 Limiteds and '20+ RT Limiteds?

Would love to hear impressions.

Thanks in advance.

The Main Difference is in the seating, you sit ON a RT, you sit IN an F3

2 complete different rides.

also the RT has more creature comforts, heated seat, electric windshield etc.

I have recently been through this same dilemma. I am coming off a Harley road king classic and did a lot of reading here and elsewhere and was getting the general impression people felt the F3 was more like a cruiser and had that seating "feel" most similar to a ride like my Harley. After reading and looking at many many photo's of both F3 and RT I was convinced it was the F3 for me. I had the opportunity to go to a dealer who actually did have both and it took all but 5 min to realize the RT was it for me and in no way did I like the F3! I would highly encourage you to take the long drive or find another way to throw your leg over both before sinking a ton of money into one of these machines - a long 1 day trip seems very well worth it. I also think this is a highly personal decision based on your preferences, body style, experiences, etc etc ... so in no way does one person's experience transfer to another person. Good luck on your decision making and let us know !!

eshmid2 pretty much summed up my conclusion resulting from my research. And like him I wanted the F3 until I was able to make an in person comparison. I didn’t like the idea of sitting as low as the F3 on a bike that in my opinion was already low to start with, so I instantly switched what I wanted to the RT Limited for seating position, creature comforts for myself and my passenger wife and so far have been super happy with my choice. The only thing that would be better would be having an F3, RTL and a Ryker Rally...not going to happen!

Ditto!!
We started with a 2012 RS-S, then upgraded to a 2015 ST Limited to get the "touring" features (bags, cruise control, windshield, heated grips, running boards etc). I wanted the sporty RS 'look' and was never thrilled with the bulky rear end of the original RT's. (I still own and ride 2 wheelers but the Spyder is for the wife). We visited a dealership several months ago when I was convinced that a new F3 Limited was going to be our next Spyder. But the F3 has minimal front storage and the Limited windshield was inadequate for touring. After seeing the latest RT re-design and it's features, we were sold! The price was not that much different.

Hmmmm, very interesting. The dealer I was at yesterday with the two RTL's were in the neighborhood of over $33 K out the door..... :yikes:

Wasn't sure which I'd like better so I paid the $99 and took the 3-wheel new rider course.

https://can-am.brp.com/on-road/us/en/learn-to-ride/registration.html

In addition to learning and getting used to the differences of 3-wheels vs my normal 2, they had both RTL's and F3T's in the class, so we are able to swap around and treat it like an all-day extended test ride. Going through the same track maneuvers on one right after the other, confirmed that I personally liked the feel of the F3 more. Plus, it was a refresher course that I used to get the extra discount on insurance.

That is way overpriced! Go over and take them for a test ride to see if that is the way you want to go. Then go and make the purchase from someplace like iMotorsports, where you will pay the price advertised plus $174 doc fee. Then you can handle the tax and tags in your state. Bike will be delivered to your door. Good luck.
BTW, keep in mind that the F3 lineup has been the same body design since 2015 and is due for a possible change. Do you really want to end up with a bike that can look older than it actually is only 1 year after the purchase?

RUN AWAY FAST! And report that thief to the police! I paid $23k OTD for my '20 RT Base last year.

They are as different as the Chevrolet Corvette and the Chevrolet Camaro - both are Chevrolet's, but they are very different!

Hello I just joined this forum. I have a 2015 Harley Freewheeler that I am getting rid of. I want to replace it with a Spyder. I have sat on both of them, I kind of like the F3L for the seating position, but the RTL was very comfortable and looks like the passenger would be more comfortable also; plus, it has the adjustable windshield. The Freewheeler was not very comfortable for two up so I didn't do too much two up riding, but I would like to do more. Either one should put the Freewheeler to shame for weather protection. I would like to hear from owners of both models... especially about Wind and weather protection between the F3 Limited vs. Rt Limited.

I have a 2023 F3 LTD Special Series. I had a 2014 RTS-SE6 (since Sold).

On the 2012 RTS-SE5 and my 2014 RTS-SE6, I had more wind/weather protection near my feet, because there was more Tupperware (plastic) in the front (near the floorboards). Also, the frunks were deeper, and I sat up-right (my legs were directly under me, in-line with my body).

On my current :spyder2: the 2023 F3 LTD Special Series, it has the following:

Open Air freedom, Relaxed cruiser ergonomics with a UFit system, Bold muscular + Sporty design with premium finishes & coloration's, SACH's Shocks with self-leveling air preload adjustment, Comfort seat, Short reach handlebars, Top case, Super sport grille, Audio control key pad, Rider/passenger floorboards, Ride & passenger heated hand grips, Top case with integrated passenger backrest, Integrated hard side luggage, Glovebox with USB port, Sport windshield, Cruise Control, Black embossed seat with a "Limited" inlay, front fenders with integrated LED lights, 2 halogen headlights (55/60w). Its Storage capacity is 7.1 Gallons (27L), it has a large panoramic 7.8 wide LCD color display with BRP Connect allowing the integration of vehicle optimized smartphone apps, such as media, navigation, and many others, all controlled through the handlebars. Power: 115 HP @ 7250 RPM

Wind/weather protection: you are more in the open than on the RT's.

The reason why I went with the F3 LTD SS was the color and the price.

I think so too, but the 2023 bright red F3L that I sat on made me feel 40 years younger...
