• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Marco Liebenow was fishing off the coast of Norway when he managed to catch a 515-pound halibut. Reeling in the fish felt like pulling in a submarine because of its size. After 90 minutes, Liebenow and three other men managed to haul in the massive catch, but couldn't fit the 8.6-foot fish on their boat. Instead, they had to drag it back to harbor alongside the schooner. The current record stands at 459 pounds for Pacific halibut (Alaska, 1996) and 418 pounds for Atlantic halibut (Norway, 2004).

Yikes..!!

thats a lot of fish...!! but then Loved going to Mystic Seaport in Conn where they have those boats that went after the whales...:yikes:

i believe in catch and release, catch something that big and release it to someone to cut it into steaks

Nice fish!! We have them here and yes they get the occasional 450 pounder. A couple a year are caught in the 350+ range. Most Halibut caught are in the 20 - 50 # range. We call them "Chickens."

If any of our Alaska Travelers are going to try their luck, we got em. I can't wait to see MurphyBrown or Prairie Spyder hauling one of them 450 pounders back on their :spyder2:'s. :roflblack: Beginners luck, and all that.
