What’s Up With KewlMetal?

My intention here is NOT to trash one of our forum sponsors, just curious if they are still in business?


On June 1[SUP]st[/SUP] I ordered a Run Turn Brake LED from KewlMetal for my spyder and my order was finally shipped 31 days later. During the delay I contacted KewlMetal and they told me that the lights were backorder; I understand that inventory does not always keep up with orders. After I received my LED’s I opened the kit and reviewed the instructions and realized that the kit contained the wrong connectors (Posi-Taps). I tried to reach out to KewlMetal with multiple phone calls and emails and I still have not heard anything. This morning I tried to call again and now you get a recording that their number is no longer working.

I had to order the correct Posi-Tabs elsewhere, there not available locally. I have since installed the LED’s and I’m very pleased. As I said I’m not out to trash KewlMetal, they’re a great supporter of our forum and the biker community, just curious what’s going on with KewlMetal?


By the way if you have never used Posi-Taps / Posi-Locks before they are really neat.

I had the exact same problem. I found the owner, Matt, cell phone number somewhere here on SL. He said the voice mail box being full was because of vacations. Inventory may be one thing. TricLED has been having the same issue. The products may not be made in country. But poor service is local and there should be no excuse for that.

PS..when I talked to Matt he was very understanding and cordial and Fed Ex'd the correct connectors. Those are "Kewl" connectors aren't they? I suggested to Reggie, another true gentleman IMHO, at TricLED to include the same connectors instead of the old crimp type connectors.
