There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. WELL I HAD A FIRST YESTERDAY MORNING

Ok, went out for a sunday morning run to obi, cruising at about 70 on northern state pkwy then out of nowhere a small
bird, sparrow or something flies across my bike and we both found out my windshield is stronger then him. SPLAAAT on
the lower left side of the windshield & vents. I quickly pulled over & stopped & found wing & bird gut, good thing i keep
al's hubcap cleaner and towels on the bike. After cleaning up feathers and blood I continued on my ride. Don't know
about others but i usually only have to clean up gnat gut when i get home never anything served at a chinese restaurant.

P.S. obi is a car get together every sunday morning on the south shore beaches of long island.

Bird splat

Had that happen with a hawk one time. He missed the windshield and hit my helmet. I had dicked my head so he hit top and did not survive. Thought I was going to wreck. I was on two wheels at the time on Spyder I would not have been as scared.

cleaning the blood & guts was worse then the impact after i had stopped :yikes:.
i guess if it was a terrorist who flew past my windshield there would be no skid marks.

I took out a bird one in Wyoming while riding my Vulcan. Hit my knee and tumbled off into the distance.

Only close calls...

:yikes: glad your non the worse. Cleanup is Yucky. I have had several close call and I a couple in the same place by , I believe, the same hawk. I think he hunts cycle ryders but had a vision problem...:roflblack: guess thats a good thing...

Hit a Guinea Fowl while bomobing down a gravel road once...not pretty

Years ago while trailing two other bikes and eating dust on a gravel "short cut" near Walsh, CO I thought it would be good to pass and get some fresh air. Just after passing the other bikes, a flock of guineas boiled up out of the ditch, and only one guinea was unfortunate enough to meet my mirror. My temporary riding companions got a good show though. Luckily my bike stayed steady and we rode it out...

Happy to say that I have no bird kills to my credit while riding a motorcycle.

Did hit a large snowy owl late one night while driving the North woods of WI. It came out of nowhere and smacked the windshield hard. No breakage or cracks, but I was scared to death for a moment. :yikes:

Was riding a two-wheelie and a bird hit my leg. Didn't know a little bird could make that big of a mess and thank goodness I was wearing chaps!

With gross bits all down my leg, I walked through a gas station to get to the restroom to clean up. :opps: :barf:

When we got to the hotel, found more guts down the side of my saddlebag. Hubby knew the guts were there early on, but didn't tell me 'cause he thought I was traumatized enough...

I had mine at the dealer for service and it had to stay overnight so they gave me an F3 to take home. Going back the next day I seen a large bird fly across the road, thought it might of been a pheasant but didn't really look like one. Got up to where it crossed and another flew across just feet in front of me. Turned out to be an owl. Found out how good the brakes are or I would of had a face full of owl feathers. And they can downshift really quick too!!

I had just drilled the hole and mounted a VHF Ham Radio antenna in the center of the roof of my new car and took it out for a moderately high-speed test drive to make sure it didn't whistle. Got up to about 70 mph, no whistle but then a very loud THUD! Looked in the rear-view mirror and saw nothing but gobs of feathers. Pulled over and about 6' up the 42" stainless steel whip was bent into a fairly tight spiral but the antenna stayed on the roof. There was no straightening out that whip, had to replace it. No guts on the car and I looked along the road on the way back home but didn't see a naked bird.

Not a Bird - But Oh Deer what a mess

While on a trip last month my wife hit a Deer Carcass that had been mangled by a tractor trailer and several cars. It was very much in the mushy gooie state. She managed to straddle it with the front tires. I hit the spoiler and sent blood and guts everywhere. Then the rear tire ran over it ker thump!. No damage other that a car wash could not take care of. Whew.

Same trip she hit this also. She wanted to see a real Tumble Weed in action.
