• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Weekend 1 with "charlotte"

New owner here. Just did 1150 miles from austin to marfa with the wife, then down to presidio and hwy 170, and over to big bend national park, then back home to the atx.. amazing!!!
I did get tossed in the wind a bit and sometimes a little iffy in the curves but what a great 2 up touring bike. Maybe pac coast hwy or key west next? Perhaps a little taller and wider windshield next as the raindrops precisely catapult themselves off the top of the windshield and right on my glasses. Nice to have a stereo but sounds crappy at high volume. Gonna be empty nesters next year so let the road trips begin!!!

Glad to hear....

Sounds like a nice trip although the shopping in Marfa is sparce....:roflblack::roflblack: one shop and I can't afford anything they make....:banghead: Nice shot nonetheless...

I've got the F4Customs, tall, wide, vented windshield. You'll probably enjoy the difference.
You should tell us a little more about your RT. Yep, the radio is junk. But I like the QUIET
ryde. I just know you will be happy.

Not too much to tell yet...2017 pearl white rt ltd. Have put a driver backpad, passenger armrest, mudflap, front bra, noseguard. Bought her new a week ago.

ATXSpyder, Welcome and Congrats, My wife and I have put over 8000 miles on our RTL since October and we're looking at another 2k this month alone. They are comfortable and yet still fun bikes aren't' they.
I concur with both your concerns, but we took care of safety first, handling 2nd, and the windshield has been liveable, but the F4 tall wide vented screen is on my wishlist, and I've already got better speakers, just been riding too much having too much fun to worry about installing the speakers. Lot's of threads here about upgraded speakers making some improvement. I use my helmet's Bluetooth speakers above 60 mph and turn the bike speakers down.

Keep on riding and having fun. Welcome again to the "Y".

Congrats on your new Ryde and the exploration

Hope Charlotte continues to take you to more interesting and "out of the ordinary" experiences!

After we got our Spyder last year, my wife and I have found many nice drives in the tri-states that we never new about. Some are even nearby but if we were in the car, we just didn't drive "there" because we "had no reason to". Now, we will go somewhere just because we haven't been there and usually find multiple ways to do it!

Your Spyder is the opening to a new world! Enjoy the exploration!:yes::yes:

Maybe pac coast hwy or key west next?

You will love both of those rides although traffic can be heavy and slow since lots of tourists also travel those roads. The PCH north of Santa Barbara is more desolate than the southern portion but before you go be sure to check with CALTRANS to make sure the highway is actually open. Slides can occur at any time on this stretch of road and there are few alternate routes.

The further north you go (north of S.F.) the nicer the trip becomes. Traffic generally very light (except on weekends) and the scenery is great. Lots of mom and pop shops and restaurants to sample along the way as well. Make sure to mind your gas mileage because there are not a ton of stations along this route.

The Keys (US1) is also a good ride but much slower, equally scenic, but crowded with souvenir shops and etc. Stopping along the way to take a dip in the ocean is always nice when the temps get high.
