• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Weather Radio

Planning on leaving for Spyderfest tomorrow. Looks like there is severe weather in our path. Does anyone know if the weather radio, on the rt, automatically tune to the nearest weather reporting station while in route?

Hi, I think it stays on the NOAA weather station. I believe that it is nation wide on that frequency. Weather does not look good from southern Iowa down thru Texas and Mississippi. Safe journey to all:pray:. Bon Chance mes ami

Sorry but I just saw this.

There are only 7 frequencies used by NOAA. You have to manually tune to the closest as you travel.

Make a note of all, or at least a lot, of the counties you will be traveling through. NOAA forecasts and warnings are based on counties and if you don't know which one you're in it's hard to figure out if you are in the area of a warning or not. They do announce periodically what city the broadcast is originating from. Very worthwhile service. Most of their weather info runs about 20 to 30 minutes and then repeats with changes as weather changes.

It's a manual process on the ST's. You have to toggle through the stations until you find a clear one. If you have a smart phone in view or have your passenger keep an eye on it and enable the "my location". You'll more timely information. Weatherbug (my personal favorite) informs you how close recent lightning strikes are occurring. The sparks map shows them for the last 30 minutes where lightning strikes have happened

On edit: just noticed the thread was started on Monday
