• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hey everyone, this is Owen at BRPcare - I'll be working with Steve on the forums. Just wanted to give you an update about a new Warranty Bulletin on certain 2017 Spyder F3 and RT models: Fuel Filter Leakage - #2017-0001. Please check with your dealer to see if your Spyder is affected by the campaign.

Ride safe and enjoy the summer season!

Thanks for the Filters info!

Owen, welcome to the forum and many thanks for posting this info! Proactive action is great, head it off at the pass.

I believe that fuel filter on my 2017 F3S is located on the left side under the top removal panel with the cautions on it. I will eyeball it to see if there is any seepage.

Just out of curiosity, did the clamps not get crimped well enough on some models?

Hi Owen! :D
Welcome to our own little madhouse! :2thumbs:
Thanks for the update about this issue, and we hope to not hear much from you; other than GOOD NEWS!

Any chance someone can post this Warranty Bulletin - or maybe a link?

Jeff (husband) has a Daytona so possibly he needs to know about this. ... whatever it is...

thanks all

Is there way to check the Can Am web site whether a bike is affected based on the vin.

Not reliable at all. I checked regularly after purchasing and it showed nothing. Yet I got a call from the selling dealer and was informed there were two outstanding bulletins on mine!

As stated on post 1

.

Yes I can give them a call, and see if our vin appears - after they look it up on their computer
BUT
that doesn't tell me what the issue is.

Oh and the vin search is not available outside America/?canada

Let's have some transparency please, for people like us where the dealer is 4 hours ride each way...

ps we've just done this ride for a service, and really I think Jeff (mech eng/generator guy) can inspect a hose clamp - IF that is where the potential issue lies. A copy of Warranty Bulletin will guide us, independently of dealer, as to potential urgency/impact of this so-far mysterious issue.

A phone call and maybe you can get them to send thru internet will help some transparency?

Yep but without any vin number guidance, without seeing the warranty bulletin, without access in oz to a vin search, the result is that - to know what this is about - we all have to annoy our busy dealers with individual phone calls.

Doesn't seem very efficient to me.

We have brought much of this on ourselves

Control, supersedes efficiency, on this side of the pond.

You see, we have a problem here in the US. People will sue anyone for anything. No matter how frivolous. And, we have attorney's that are so desperate to make a buck they'll file the suit. I guess that's the long way around to saying BRP is covering their arse. And, rightfully so, considering the circumstances.

So we on the other side of the pond are sue happy :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

Yep good point its all about liability.

Wow, BRP posts something helpful but still so much complaining. I imagine that if Owen contacted each owner personally someone would complain that he called their home number and not their cell.

Call your dealer and and see if your Spyder is affected.

Hey all,

Thank you for the warm welcome, it feels nice to be a part of such a great community!

As for the concerns about identifying if your Spyder is affected by the campaign, the VIN tool on the website is only for safety recalls at the moment, not warranty bulletins. However, we`re looking at ways to share more information (such as VIN range) with the public moving forward. You should never be reluctant to call your dealer, they`re there to help you.

Ryde safe,

Owen
