• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Wanted to get opinions on this headset, is it a good value?

Hello,
I was looking at getting the Sens SMH10D so me and the wife could communicate when we ride. (Both on the same bike). Right now Amazon has it on sale for 284.25. Is that a decent price for what you get. Don't mind spending the money, just leary of sometimes buying something for that much over the internet without actually touching the thing and playing with it in the store.

Thank you all,

The Sena brand is a favorite of users on the SL site. We have the SMH10's and can communicate bike to bike with no issues. Of all the brands out there (N-com, chatterbox, Cardo, Sena), the Sena communicates longest, quietest, and long battery life.

I bought new n-coms with built helmet use (Nolan) and after a few months, we are using the Sena again.

You cannot go wrong.

Love the SENA

We've had a couple different models of SENA headsets and really like them. We've used them with up to 4 different riders for long ride communication and it's been invaluable.

Check out Motorcycle Dave. He has an ad on the home page. I recently purchased a new Sena set from him. Top notch service and he's very helpful! He also has VERY reasonable prices!

We bought Sena SMH10's a couple of months ago, to use on our new Spyder F3L. Find them to be very good and a most enjoyable addition to our ryde. Easy to charge up - takes a couple of hours. Seems to last about 8 hours; we re-charge every 4 or 5 short rydes. Not as much fun without them. Your posting seems like a very good price; we paid closer to $400 with tax. One comment: you can attach to helmet either by clamp or by sticky patch. I tried the sticky first rather than cut into helmet liner. Not a good or secure solution. Twice had the thing come loose. So, I wound up slicing into liner, inserting clamp mechanism and fastening properly. No problem now, and very solid/secure. Installation instructions are supplied. Sena 'pairs' up easily with cell phone and GPS, or with other riders. Works well and as claimed. Think you'll be quite pleased.

If all you want is driver to passenger communication and don't need any of the other features of the higher-priced headsets, then just get a basic intercom (wired or wireless).

The SMH10D-10 is a great head set, it is used on an open face helmet only
if you need it for a modular helmet or full face helmet you need the SMH10D-11
and by the way my price is much better than what you have shown.

Dave, it's pretty obvious you DO have extraordinarily great prices. Our Sena's were bought, along with helmets, jackets, etc., from the Spyder dealer at the same time we bought the new F3L. We simply wanted to get started w/o delay. Also, we are in Canada, and would have had to wait for shipping plus pay additional sales tax once goods reached the border. Now that we're ryding and getting more familiar with the SL Forum, we are shopping more carefully and taking our time. We will be looking for you and others from whom to purchase; in fact, I already have just bought a new windshield from F4. My comment above was meant more to add support for the OP's decison about whether the Sena's were worth investing in to begin with. If he's cost conscious, he certainly should be looking your way. And we might have too, had we known and not simply been in a hurry to ryde. Cheers.
