Waiting on new Polaris Slingshot to arrive.

I just put my downpayment on a new Polaris Slingshot. Its supposed to be here in October. I am still going to keep my Spyder RT. I think the slingshot will be something completely different as far as trikes go. My wife asked me if I was selling my spyder and i assured her that it was staying in household. Soon as I get the slingshot ill post up some videos.

Now I know how the guys on here felt that were waiting on the 2014 RT to come out. I am going nuts waiting......

Good for you! The Slingshot also has/had me intrigued. Nearest dealer at the moment is in Seattle for me. Not that I was looking or anything like that. :roflblack:

Like you, I would have held on to one RT. Here the 2014. The 2011 would have gone. Can't justify it--but that has not bothered me in the past too much. :roflblack:

I am buying the SL version. Its the one that is red and has all the goodies on it like a small windscreen and infotainment and bigger wheels. I just called over to the dealer and my salesman took a 500.00 deposit over the phone via credit card. He said he has 3 on the way. One demo unit and one each of the models it comes in.

Its definitely is a different animal than the spyder. I don't see it being any competition for the spyder. I think the spyder is a much more refined trike. The slingshot just looks a lot more raw and kinda reminds me of a bar hopper bike. If that makes an sense at all.

I just had cervical disk surgery. They took out c5-6 and c6-7. I can't wear a helmet for 7 or 8.weeks. It should be in by the time I am ready to ride. I am ready for a little good health. In the last couple years I have had butt surgery, knee surgery, lumbar epidurals and now cervical fusion. I would give up all my toys for a run of good health. Ill probably end up getting rid of my Ducati Diavel soon. I guess my weight and my lifestyle has just caught up with me. I can honestly say the spyder has never hurt me. I don't figure the Slingshot will hurt me either. I just hate to let my motorcycle go. Its like admitting defeat.

Actually I am the type if someone wants to ride any of my bikes and I have watched them ride before they can ride any of my bikes. I don't mind people riding my bikes. Hopefully the slingshot will be in before thunderbeach rally. I will be there that whole week.
