• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Wait until winter...?

New to owning a motorcycle (bought my Spyder in Aug 11), but should I just go ahead, suck it up and wait until winter rolls around before purchasing accessories? Looking mostly at a new Two Brothers Exhaust, Juice Box, Corbin Seats w/backrest, some billeted covering (swing arm caps, etc.) and maybe sound ground lighting. Just wondering what everyone's experience is with buying stuff in the winter. And what online store has the best/most/cheapest spyder accessories?

I'd ride it while the weather is good and tinker with it when the weather is crummy.

Im just trying to figure out if parts are usually cheaper, if not I may go ahead and order one. I can get the M-2 V.A.L.E. from cyclegear for 365 with Mil discount, and no shipping.

There's 2 different issues at play here... When to buy, and when to spin wrenches! I tend to sneak farkles into the garage whenever I can get a good price. But I'm NOT wasting riding time taking things apart!

I had my dealer install all the chrome from Can-Am and the gps. The cost was what I would have paid just for the parts.

Best place to buy Spyder farkles is from the vendors posted on the Homepage. There are now quite a few places and options. I have used these for strictly Spyder stuff.

If you need riding gear like helmets, gloves, pants, etc. First try Baja Ron--he has great prices on certain Firstgear items. Motorcycle Superstore is also very good. They have everything, 95% in stock, and they ship at reasonable prices without gouging.

RE: Corbin--if you are going to bite the bullet on the seat--they take a long time lately to process orders. Give yourself a couple months and you won't be disappointed. The install on these items is pretty easy and straightforward.

When you get to engine mods like juice box and exhaust systems--that has to be done just so--as the nanny don't like her domain being messed with.

The only bad thing about installing farkes during the winter is that you can't try them out. You may find yourself polishing your Spyder a lot during the "big sleep".

Oregon is suppose to be milder than Maine. We are in the eighties again today. Tee shirt ryding weather.:2thumbs:

Just do it.

My theory is just do it when you can, but in NZ we don't have as many options for purchasing mods.
We are just heading into Spring over here and I still managed to keep up my average of 1000kms per month over winter. I have good gear to keep me warm, and on some days it can be stunning weather but cold, but
my Spyder doesn't seem to care to much. Looking forward to more ryding now that Summer is coming
