Vibration in Handlebars at certain speeds

Had the front wheels off last week to do brake work on my 09 GS SM5. Replaced them back one at a time as I completed the work. Lugs are snug. Never had the vibration before, was always smooth riding. Any thoughts?

It sounds like balancing issue or rim is not centered?

Out of balance will usually notice in a speed range, 45 to 55 and begin to smooth out by 60. Unless it is really unbalanced.
Out of round is more noticible at all speeds but worse at times.

Wheel weight fall off?
I would check to make sure rim is centered. Rotate while off the ground, holding something near tire to see if out of round.
If good, try this...
Then remove 1 wheel, mark hub and wheel for reference, rotate 1 lug, retighten and test.
If that works just be sure to mark the hub and wheel for easy matching later.

Thanks for info, will try that. Just unusual that it (vibration) was not there before taking the wheels off.

Curious. ....

What kind of brake work did you do...?? did you mount the wheels with the correct rotation..?? do you have the same tire pressue on both..?? :agree: on the balance. :dontknow:

Bled the brakes, took one wheel off at a time and replaced same. Just bumped tire pressure up because it was low. Looking at belt tension adjustment now.
