• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Anybody have any feedback from longterm use on these tires? Everything I have seen online shows lousy reviews. Thanks.

Can't comment on long term, however I replaced my OEM rear tire about 3,000 kms ago, and so far am really happy with it. I'm running it at 30 psi.

Question: Where are you seeing the negative reviews? :dontknow:
Early on; they had some QC problems. They seem to have been dealt with.

just from general internet searches, not meaning to be negative towards veerubber but just curious.

Later date....

Just installed one on the rear of my RS . Got about 17,000 miles each on the two kendas but thought I would give the Arachnid a try. Will let everyone know how it goes...

So Far so Good!

I replaced all three of the Kendas on my 2008 GS when I bought it two years ago. Rear tire did not require any balance weights, the front tires only a small weight (too dark to go look now as to the amount of weight). I run 18 lbs. on the fronts and 26 lbs on the rear. One front looses about 1/2 Lb of pressure every 2-3 months, the other front and rear haven't lost any measurable amount of pressure. Traction after the first 100 miles or so improved and the tread wear so far is negligible and even. Road surfaces here are mostly black-top and gravel and i ride mostly one up. So I'm very happy with mine.

Hi Ann,
Can you please give everyone a better definition of "lousy"? :dontknow:
How many miles did they last, and did they last any longer than the OEM chicken-skin?

Ann's definition of "lousy" is probably very different from yours and mine as she practically lives on her bike. :)

Can't comment on the rear tire as I have a Kenda back there, 16,000 kms 10,000 mi and it still looks like new!

Put VeeRubber on the front this year, about 5000 kms so far and quite happy with them, did the Cannonball 1000 2 weeks ago, rode over 5 hours in pouring rain and had no problems at all.

My dealer has had so many issues with short life on the Kenda that he is going to start stocking the Veerubber touring tires. I will be having mine put on in the next couple of weeks. I think it will be a good choice.

Not sure yet if this tire is the answer

We just completed a 2000 mile trip starting with a brand new rear tire. It lost 4/32s of tread depth over the trip. To be fair, we were always two up, almost always pulling the trailer, and almost never straight and level. Not sure if that's excessive or not considering all the side to side loads with all the cornering. Guess we'll just get one season out of it. Would be a lot happier if it was only a $70.00 tire.
