• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Valve shims

Does anyone have an accurate measurement of the outside diameter of the valve shims for the 998 Spyder engine?
I am looking at purchasing a kit from AF1 Racing and getting it sent out to Australia and just want to be sure I am getting the correct kit.

Curious. ....

Do they still have charts for shim under bucket like the ones we used for the Suzuki and Hondas..??

They are 10.0mm which is slightly larger than the much more common 9.48mm shims used in lots of Japanese and Triumph bikes. I too, am in Australia and buy shims from here after I know what size I need. Sure it takes a couple of days to get em but that's ok with me.

I am in Alice Springs, nearest dealer is 1550kms away, so freight is not quick here.
The kit from the USA costs around A$150 and supplies 2 of each shim.
I will check out Precision Shims and make a decision.

Thanks for the help.
